New boss requiring email check ins every 2 hours

I work in a professional environment and have employees that I have to manage.
It's ridiculous that I have to pull numbers from all my employees every 2 hrs for my supervisor. Supervisor is micromanaging me and now I feel like I have to micromanage my employees and everyone is less productive.
Before you ask, all my peers are having to do this as well. I've never had any performance issues in the past and have consistently met my goals. My team is 112% of quarter now as of now.

If it were me, I'd email him every time I left my chair to piss, get a drink of water, whatever.....I would send him so many emails, he'd spend all day just reading bullshite emails.

Are you in a production environment?

Jesus Christ dude. Start looking elsewhere now. Nobody worth a shite wants to work for a boss like that.

Do you work for Veruca Salt’s dad?

Did he just start making you do this. How annoying.

New Boss Syndrome. Has he ever been in your position within the company, or did he come from outside? He sounds like a 'meeting everyday' kind of guy. Hopefully he'll realize this email crap is counter productive and let it go. Good Luck.

Posting on TD on company time is theft. He's on to you.

Congrats. You no longer work in a professional environment.

What do you mean? The supervisor wants to see that everyone is checking their email at least every two hours?
Is this a result of something that happened?
Does everyone have double screens? If so, I would imagine most people would have their email up on one screen, but if someone is working on something and they don't check their email on a regular basis, if they don't respond to an important email, I would imagine whoever sent the email would eventually call them to let them know it's something important.

Ok, that is dumb. I can email check-in from the golf course. I can even automate the email so I would not have to hit send.

Meet the 2 hour email check ins and you may someday get to be boss. Look around and see which one of your peers has a brown nose. That's your competition
