Whatever you did, you deserve it. A few true or false words, don't make you somehow able to skate, free of wrongdoing.
If he says he's ICE, who cares?
Get your shite and go back

If the city joined the 287G program under the task force model, which explicitly allows city police officers to conduct immigration enforcement activities, who in the hell else do you think would be part of the task force besides feds and local officers? The local McDonald's workers? The city trash collectors?
Sir... Since I was raised respectfully unlike some.
Assisting parking cars at the state fair doesn't make you a traffic cop. The verbage says clearly that the municipality can join the task Force MODEL PROGRAM. It does not say join The Task Force now does it?
So is the Cops assisting ICE.. OR part of THE Task Force. That question has yet to be answered. And you have yet to answer that question 100%... You are only speculating. I can clearly see the thought pattern that if they assist ICE then they would be part of the ICE task force due to assistance. I am no dummy...
But I also know that if you look at a glass full of clear liquid from a far, you don't know if it's water or Rubbing alcohol until you step up to investigate.
it.
And currently. other than your answer is the one I got from my Sheriff PR friend, who said it was a NO.. He was not part of the task force.
So I now have an answer from a professional that disputes yours.
quote:
To the OT: this is something you see all the time with clients. They get hung up on some insignificant word or point and start to think themselves into pretzels. By the time they seek legal advice they have this whole ridiculous framework constructed in their head that is completely irrelevant or nonsensical. That's exactly what has happened here. OP got some thought in his head that has prevented him from using basic logic or reading comprehension. It doesn't matter that 99% of the responses are trying to point out the error in reasoning. He's hung up on it and he's going to stay that way because he wants a particular answer to be true. I would also bet my last dollar he is over age 55.
Does assisting in the High School's Aviation Program make the student a Pilot? Same scenario here.
ANd I am over 55... Raised back when we were taught respect and manners.. Unlike some young lawyers today.
I will find out the answer. Then after I get The Truth I can make a proper decision... Because that's all I want it the truth.. Plain and simple
But I will say this. The Police Officer better BE part of The Ice Task force, because we have video evidence that he is claiming to be. ANd even if I am right, there still may be nothing than can be done.. And I understand that..

The one with all the pretty Cuban girls. Who are probably too scared to come to work today now due to this flying around the internet, even if they are legal.

You are correct... and I knew it.

it has 3 forms of the program that you can join.
The Task Force Model. The Task Force Model allows your officers to enforce limited immigration authority while performing routine police duties, such as identifying an alien at a DUI checkpoint and sharing information directly with ICE. An ICE supervisor determines next steps. These officers may also exercise limited immigration authority as active participants on ICE-led task forces.
I would guess that if the local police force joined and signed up for the task force model, then they operate as an extension of ICE and would therefore be telling the truth that they are ICE task force.
If they did not sign up for it, then they would not be telling the truth but I see no benefit that lying gives them. They have the same authority in either circumstance.

OK, I've read through all 5 pages (to this point) of this thread. Here is my take.
Throughout this thread, you have come across as bitter (either rightfully or wrongfully), but bitter nonetheless and this state of mind seems to have colored your ability to accept the answers given.
Next, let me first state I am not an attorney. I am, however, generally well read and broadly knowledgeable about many things. The main burr sticking in your craw seems to be the statement made by the officer claiming to be part of a taskforce. From a legal standpoint, courts have repeatedly stated that cops can lie, including about their identity. While it is illegal to impersonate a federal officer, I don't know that stating you are part of a task force reaches that level. Perhaps one of the lawyers in this thread could answer that.
Another possibility is that the officer is ignorant (like many are) and he believes he is part of a task force due to the cities involvement of the program, but may not actually be. Again, given the information available to us here on the OT, this is unknowable.
It is unfortunate that your business is being affected, but I personally have no empathy for legal employees or customers that avoid work or going to a business because of activity directed at illegal aliens. When you live in a society, there is always the possibility that innocent and legal citizens will get caught up in law enforcement activities. They are not unique in that.
quote:Based on the information you have provided to this point, all anyone can do is to speculate. People have stated this repeatedly and clearly: whether or not the aforementioned officer is part of a taskforce is unknowable given the stated information.
So is the Cops assisting ICE.. OR part of THE Task Force. That question has yet to be answered. And you have yet to answer that question 100%... You are only speculating.
quote:This a part of the miscommunication going on. According to your previous post, the PR friend stated "not to his knowledge." This is NOT the same as NO. It means that he does not have information stating that the officer is definitely a task force member, not that the officer is not a member of a task force.
And currently. other than your answer is the one I got from my Sheriff PR friend, who said it was a NO.. He was not part of the task force.

So you are associated with a "juice bar", and the real reason you're upset is because none of the illegals will frequent your strip club now?

Normal Human nature... Right now the Hispanic/Latinos community is so scared and worried that they are refusing to go out. Especially to a place that has a reputation of a local speed trap. They dont want to be harassed or detained.

you keep repeating this in almost every response. Weird af
Because that is was has caused this. One of our local cops was videoed saying he is part of the ICE Task Force.
Now every single Hispanic on Facebook, Twitter, tik tok is sharing this video saying to stay away from my area.
This bad publicity has spread like a wildfire. What what am I to do?. Buy TV Advertising? Spend money? What?

Oh please... The legal Hispanics dont want to come to a known speed trap that is now supposedly The ICE Task force.
And for your information. I have to make sure everyone in my building is legal or I can loose all my licenses.
I am politely answering your reply that really should have been replied to because it is insulting.

How is it insulting if it's factual?

If you don't speed and are legal, why wouldn't they?

i don’t care. if you have legitimate papers to be here, you have no reason for concern. anyone saying otherwise is being a dramatic twat.
how do you think other countries operate exactly?

good. that’s how it should be. sorry not sorry.

It's not factual, he falsly claimed i was ONLY upset that this was effecting my business because I deal with illegals. Neither of those statements are true.

Did you not read my post where this police dept pulled me over because my third tail light was not working?
The 1991 Jeep Cherokee does NOT HAVE a third a tail light.
So was this an Officer error. Or just a bs reason to stop me in the hopes I would have either an open container or Marijuana smell. Which then would have given him a reason for an arrest and car impound.
So when the place is notorious for this crap.
Legal white citizens who arnt even immigrants avoid my area due to police notoriety for this. They dont want to be harrassed.. Do you think now a hispanpic person not only doesnt want to deal with the cops, but now ICE too... heck no.
Lets just go somewhere else is the answer to that question.

Onyx Aggie.
Thank you for a good reply sir.
Speculation can lead to research, which leads to facts and truth. Then proper decisions can be made.
Bitter? No.. More like frustrated.. when the very first page a supposed Lawyer calls me a dumbass and imbecile... Not very professional if you ask me. Just shows how ill mannered some people can be.
And your response shows that.
That is the question exactly. Thank You again. But unfortunately some immature lawyer told me on page one that I was a dumbass for asking that same question
I'll post more later.
Thanks again
You must be over 55..lol

I barely understand what the hell this question is asking.
No, I don’t think that a normal municipal police officer can claim to be part of ICE, if that’s what you’re asking.
