Thank You Sir... I have a copy of that now as I just got home.
I sincerely appreciate your response and effort to help in this situation. I will be researching more in the next few days.
This is the exchange between me and My friend who is the PR officer for my counties Sheriff's Dept.
ME - Officer ******* says that he is a Member of the ICE Task Force... I understand ****** joined with 287G Task Force Model... But is his statement correct that he is a Member of The Ice Task Force? Thanks
County Sheriff's PR person - Not that I’m aware of.

Are you just having a semantics argument with yourself or are you trying to challenge his legal authority to detain an illegal?
What I am having problem with is this?
His video is flying around the internet in the Hispanic Communities and they are saying to stay away from my area where I have a business and it is causing a decrease in in my revenue and customer base... If what he said is a FALSE Statement and untrue. Then he has damaged my business by spreading false information.

For fricks sake. Okay Karen. Good luck suing the city or county.
You have no legal recourse whatsoever

Is this like the square is always a rectangle but a rectangle isn't always a square kind of thing?

Who cares if the officer is a member of the ICE task force or not. From what we've been able to decipher from your inane ramblings, you're upset about a local police force signing up for training to be part of the ICE task force.
To that I say, again, who cares? If the local police are detaining illegals, good. They don't have to be part of ICE to detain and apprehend illegals. Criminals are criminals.
This same Police unit pulled me over because my 3rd brake light wasn't working...
The 1991 Jeep Cherokee doesn't have a third brake light.
So was this simply an officer error, or an exscuse to stop me and look for open containers or the smell of Marijuana?
My employess have been pulled over for
Driving too close to the line.
Pulling out of the parking lot too fast
Suspicious driving.
No I 100 % support the Police working with ICE. I also support the police for doing thier jobs of pulling over drunks, arresting people for drugs.
But how can I support a known speed trap in which people travel miles out of their way to go around the town.
But no possible false rumors are flying around that the Local polilce Dept is The ICE Task Force.
Yeah.. That's what I need. I will remember that when I sign that Sales Tax payment.

The spreadsheet at the below lists current participants as of July 10th including which model they are participating in. If the city is listed and is listed as a Task Force Model either this guy is one, someone else is, and/or another officer or multiple officers will be shortly.

It’s true. Federal law enforcement agencies oftentimes will form task forces with local law enforcement. I use to coach youth baseball with a guy who was a Hoover police officer who worked on a fugitive task force with the US Marshals for a time.
It’s quite common from what I understand.

Thank You again Sir... I apreciate your honest efforts to these questions. I am doing some more research and I was where my cities link is pending.
I also have the city council elections results where it was voted for... But.. Working with Ice and being a Task Force may be two different things..
I will post more information.. Too many post to reply too at this moment

Thanks Vadar.. Appreciate you sir.
I understand that federal law enforcement can for task forces with Local Law enforecement. But does that mean the officer is still with the task force every hour of every day. Does this include his normal duties daily too? Or is it just for a specific period.
I have to read up[ on that MOA.

To be honest, I’m not entirely sure how it works. All I know is the guy I coached with was on a fugitive task force with the US Marshals. He never really gave all that much information when it came to details of what that means. It might be that it’s on a “as-needed” basis, like they call him from time to time to help in certain instances. Or it might be full time for a certain period of time.

Ok Sir... I am going to break this down just for you. Small town police force joins the 287G program [as stated in the OP] The small town uses the (Task Force "Model") [as stated in the OP] - but note the word Model and its description in the OP So now the question is this. If an officer of the small town, who chose to participate in the government's 287G program, says that he is part of "The ICE Task Force" Is that statement correct? Yes or No (As stated in the OP)

How would that be different from someone lying and claiming to to be an FBI officer? He would be lying and get arrested.

Not sure why I am a troll when all I did was ask for help.... It's OK... I am going to call the Dept of Homeland Sec and ICE Monday Morning.
You know folks... I have a great friend and WWII collecting associate who is Metro PD.. I have a good friend who is the County Sheriff's PR person. I respect Law Enforcement and understand that we can;t have a civil society without them.
But unfortunately my little police Dept is known through my state. My police friends tell me if an Officer comes to Metro or County and my little town is on their application, it immediately hits the trash can.
I was in VPO court 2 months ago. Was told if anything happens to call 911. As I went to speak the Judge said and I quote: "I know where you live, call 911 or county.
I tried to get a transcript of that but there was no court reporter.
This little city barely makes it's budget monthly... They have no Jail, so they have a contract with anopther county that if a person has to stay over night, they go there for $60 a day... So guess what.. Only traffic violation are now written. Every car impounded also gets a $150 release fee.
The homeless are crawling the streets at night. It's full of Drug zombies, tweekers and fentynol users.
Here is a passed out fyntenol user just unconscious on the street corner. You would think in a town less that 1/2 square mile would spot this. But the homeless don't being any money in to the towns budget, so they are left alone
And as the town spirals out of control with Bums, tweekers, druggies and the home values plummet. The Mayor and Chief of Police are buying the homes up at discounted prices and turning them into HUD rent homes.
I only came here because I needed quick info and I also needed a little anonymity in this situation that I can't publicly post in my facebook, twitters, forums etc.
This is what the former mayor wrote in her resignation letter.
I feel compelled to address ongoing concerns that have significantly influenced my decision. The ******** State Bureau of Investigation and District Attorney’s office currently has active investigations involving several current and former members of our town’s administration. These investigations are serious and highlight broader issues within our local government that must be addressed with transparency and accountability—issues including, but not limited to, overpayments, theft, fraud, and the mismanagement of funds and property. With the support of our new administration, I have assisted the Bureau in these matters and will continue to do so until justice is served.
Oh well... I guess I"m just a troll...

So if the officers city joined 287G to be able to ask more specific questions and look for more specified paperwork, does that mean he is part of the ICE Task force?
Or just the city is part of the 287G program.
If the city joined the 287G program under the task force model, which explicitly allows city police officers to conduct immigration enforcement activities, who in the hell else do you think would be part of the task force besides feds and local officers? The local McDonald's workers? The city trash collectors?
To the OT: this is something you see all the time with clients. They get hung up on some insignificant word or point and start to think themselves into pretzels. By the time they seek legal advice they have this whole ridiculous framework constructed in their head that is completely irrelevant or nonsensical. That's exactly what has happened here. OP got some thought in his head that has prevented him from using basic logic or reading comprehension. It doesn't matter that 99% of the responses are trying to point out the error in reasoning. He's hung up on it and he's going to stay that way because he wants a particular answer to be true. I would also bet my last dollar he is over age 55.
