It is on video flying all over the internet right now. The Latino themed business in his small town has lost every single customer. No amount of money for advertising will ever repair the damage that he has done by claiming that he and his police department are The ICE Task Force..

It sounds like the local police department stated that they are part of ICE enforcement, so now all of the illegal aliens are afraid to go to the highly visible Mexican grocery store. So 90% of customer base is shopping elsewhere?

It is not. At all. You look like a goddamn imbecile. I'm a lawyer and I have no idea what you're trying to ask.
Ok Sir... I am going to break this down just for you.
Small town police force joins the 287G program [as stated in the OP]
The small town uses the (Task Force "Model") [as stated in the OP] - but note the word Model and its description in the OP
So now the question is this. If an officer of the small town, who chose to participate in the government's 287G program, says that he is part of "The ICE Task Force"
Is that statement correct? Yes or No (As stated in the OP)

Correct.. Hispanic/Latinos communities are posting all over the internet to avoid the area as the small town has joined with ICE...
And a video of a specific officer is flying around of him saying he is a member of the ICE Task Force. And it is costing others.

Ain't reading all that. Deport the illegals without violating the fourth amendment. The end.

Has the officer(s) been selected and trained to be a Task Force Officer under the Task Force Model in an approved program/agreement by both his department and by the Attorney General’s office?
Could be a yes to the above while his actual authority in the specific detainment would depend on the below:
Was he acting in his limited immigration authority at the time (either during regular duties while identifying an alien and contacting ICE supervisor for next steps or participating with other ICE officers and Task Force officers in a specific task force with a specific goal)?
Thank You Sir.
I can only assume the officer was trained as the small town council voted to join ICE Program 287g on June 8th.
What capacity the officer was working at the time is unknown. The video mentioned only shows the officer in full gear enter a room and say: "he was being arrested on an ICE detainor and I am a member of the ICE Task force."
I would link the vid but it on facebook and if I youtube it I could dox myself. Not sure if I want to do that or not.

Is that statement True or False.
Possibly technically true but almost certainly misleading.

Still indeterminable. The Task Force Model has two parts to it. Part one is where local authority suspects immigration status issues on an unrelated arrest and calls in ICE to assist or (2) ICE conscripts local officers to help with a specific campaign - for example, there is evidence that a large number of illegal aliens are operating a business and ICE uses manpower from the Sheriff’s Office to help run the operation.
The OP fact pattern is silent on what the officer was doing when he claimed to be part of the ICE task force. Was he in the middle of an unrelated police activity and had suspicion of illegal status? Was he conscripted by ICE to run this specific operation.
Your question can’t be answered due to lack of specifics.

Who cares if the officer is a member of the ICE task force or not. From what we've been able to decipher from your inane ramblings, you're upset about a local police force signing up for training to be part of the ICE task force.
To that I say, again, who cares? If the local police are detaining illegals, good. They don't have to be part of ICE to detain and apprehend illegals. Criminals are criminals.

All I can say is "If you start a business that caters mostly to illegals, you should always expect this possible outcome.".

If the law allows for my local sheriff to enforce immigration law by joining the "task force," and my local sheriff announces that he's part of the "task force," does that mean his deputy is a part of the "task force?" Is that what your dumb arse is asking?

While that may sound great on the surface, if the town has such a bad reputation as a speed trap that legal residents drive miles out of there way to avoid the area, this dang sure doesn't help matters any.
This town is less than 0.26 square miles.. less than 1/2 square mile. Has 200 feet of roadway they can patrol. 665 residents but a total of 14 police both FT and reserve.
The detainees may go to an ice detention center, but the town now get the impound fees.

It could be true, ICE partners with local authorities and uses task force models all the time.
I'm failing understand what legal advice you're seeking? He could be part of the task force. He could be lying. What is the resolution you're seeking exactly?

Right? It's like he's looking for the solution to a 5th grade word problem.

You should stop supporting illegals and be fine with deporting as many as possible because silly things like “impound fees” are meaningless when compared to a growing welfare state, fraud, and the tax payer burden when extrapolated long past today, next year, 5 decades from now.
Seems to be the correct response to whatever the hell you are trying to say goober

I am astounded really. So I will try this way.
This is what Homeland security says about 287g
The 287(g) Program allows your law enforcement agency to enforce certain aspects of U.S. immigration law, expanding your department’s authority to:
Identify and process removable aliens with pending or active criminal charges.
Enforce limited immigration authorities with ICE oversight during routine duties.
Serve and execute administrative warrants on removable aliens in your jail.
Thats the basics.
it has 3 forms of the program that you can join.
3 Ways Your Agency Can Help
ICE has three 287(g) Program models. Your law enforcement agency can use one or more of the following to keep your community safe:
The Task Force Model. The Task Force Model allows your officers to enforce limited immigration authority while performing routine police duties, such as identifying an alien at a DUI checkpoint and sharing information directly with ICE. An ICE supervisor determines next steps. These officers may also exercise limited immigration authority as active participants on ICE-led task forces.
____________
So the small town joined in with the 287g program.
Now.. in a video flying around, an officer of the small town walks in and says: "he is being arrested on on an Ice detainor, because I am a member of the ICE Task Force"
The question as blunt as I can be is:
Is the officer correct that he is a member of the ICE Task force? Or is he just spouting off bullcrap because his city joined the 287g program?

He could be a member of an ICE task force. Not a single person on this board can answer your question because we aren't privy to all the information, including whether he is a member of an ICE task force.
Our local sheriffs office has deputies that are part of an ice task force, so it's entirely possible.
Why do you care and what legal recourse are you seeking?
