Need help handling wife/money situation

A couple years ago, I started a construction company and it’s going well. Really well. We were already doing fine, with a house, property, decent cars/truck debt free. I told her next year I’m going to build her a big arse house (we both agree we need a bigger house) and that I was getting an S-class. It started a fight. Not about money, but about me not being satisfied and being materialistic. We both grew up poor, so I figured she’d appreciate being able to have nice things, but it made her into a monk or something. I have always wanted nice things, but have been patient. Now I want to enjoy the fruit of my labor.
Will she come around on this? We’ve been married 10+ years and it never even crossed my mind that this was something that could cause tension in a marriage.
Is this thread over the top, even by OT standards?

Is it deeper than this? Are you gone a lot? Maybe she feels like you aren’t really enjoying the fruits of your hard work because you’re focusing on getting more?

I wasn’t trying to be subtle, but I do need help getting her to relax with the Mother Theresa stuff. She actually said something about how many people you could feed for a year with the cost of an S63. We give money to charity but I’m never writing a check that big while I’m alive.

Sees, and I already said it’s not a money argument. She thinks I’m becoming a different person and will always want bigger and more. It offends her sensibilites.
