Star Blazers

Not that I considermyself any sort of 'Weeb', but I just notice things that may or may not be connected.

Star Blazers crafted the space ship Yamato from the sunken remains of the WW2 battleship Yamato. (which in practicality seems ridiculous, with rust being a thing and all)

During the Millennium era of Godzilla, the fossil remains of the original 1954 Godzilla were used as a foundation to create Mechagodzilla. (Kiryu).

Again, we see the incorporation of the remains of prior iconic powers revived into a new modern and more powerful form.

Whether one is homage to the other, or that's a common theme in Japanese culture, I don't know.

This was prime time for me.

I think it started with the Gummy Bears, then Tailspin.

Also Gargoyles

Looney Tunes
Smurfs (my little brother was obsessed, and it became my guilty pleasure)
Scooby
Yogi
Jetsons

Tom & Jerry and Woody Woodpecker can’t be left out. But Woody was actually before school. Tom & Jerry is a tie with one of the above. ETA: Popeye too.

The Disney afternoon was killing it back in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Really kind of sad my kids have no idea what Saturday morning cartoons are.
