You understand why basically everyone from outside Louisiana, and a lot of natives, think this right?

Want to get used to micromanaging? Drive a semi for one of these corporate trucking companies in this country. Those frickers will message or call you while you're taking a dump asking why you stopped at a rest area instead of waiting until later. It's asinine.

CC him on all your emails so he sees you are working.

I hate micromanagers. Unfortunately I have to do it for a company we are using because they are useless and won't do crap if I don't stay on top of them. I spend more time managing them than it would take to do things myself.

I worked for someone like that once. They would have meetings to plan other meetings each month. They lived and died by a set schedule with no flexibility. Everyone little single thing had to be planned for and scheduled. I worked there for about ten months before I couldn't take it anymore and left.

If I have to micro-manage someone more than a couple of weeks, they need to go. It’s a necessity in very small doses but it’s not a way to get anything important done. My employees know that if I’m micro-managing them that there’s a big problem and they usually fall in line pretty quickly.

You people are fricking hilarious. Were all of you stoned every day in English class, or is this just the shitty state of Louisiana public schools?

"My co-workers and I are being micromanaged."

Here's a simple grammar lesson for the rest of the dimwits out there. Take out the co-workers. Would you say I am being micromanaged, or me am being micromanaged?

Also, you come after the coworkers, not before.

This is generally the case.

I've got guys I don't talk to all week.

In the past, I had some I wouldn't talk to an entire project.

But they earned that margin.

Others, I poke the frick out of because they can't manage shite and I can't get rid of them.

I had a boss like that, I learned the best strategy was to get 3 steps ahead of them. For instance, I was asked to write a section of a P&P manual, I get an email that asks when I was going to have it ready (nagging tone). I emailed back that it was finished but there were some questions for legal, they are going to send it to her when they are finished, she should check her email to see if she has it already.

That happened a few times, then I stopped getting nagging emails.

Had to work with one like that (not plant manager) at Shell Geismar. Word had it that he was relieved of his maintenance manager's job of Ethylene unit at Norco due micromanaged the crap out of things and turnarounds were not completed in a timely manner. His biggest concern was to not get any bad marks in his personnel file. He would not even accept a bag of rice as a thank you.

Around 2010 he was laid off instead of being early retired, with a buyout package, like everyone else.

If you and the other lazy lay-abouts would just work instead of yuking it up in the break room i wouldn't have to constantly email you. Why are you on tiger droppings when I need that valve blinded. I want you and birdseed in my office immediately!

Way too common around the workforce unfortunately. Sounds like the type to google how to change a tire.
