My update from Houston
Well here we are on day 3 of my adventure, although, last night at the end of my shift I was able to venture home-I'm a Houston Heights guy...my observation:many downed trees, not many red lights, and the bayous are full! We don't have power, but we did have enough water pressure to take a shower, my fiance is a goddess-she kept the beer cold, shrimp and chicken sausage cold, and cigars dry! I did have to come back to the hospital today for yet another long arse shift...the drive back was a little worse because it was much much darker, and it was storming for about half the drive. The feeder road(service road to me) under I-10 at Heights blvd was flooding, although I took my Jeep right through that shite....okay so it about 5 inches deep, so what. Anyway LSU won, and now I'm hoping the Saints get the W. Hope all is safe!

I-10 had some flooding, but my friend lives on 6 1/2 and there was nothing around there. He said some streets have power, but it's kind of in spots.

cool. I'm close to 6 1/2. I didn't expect flooding but expected no power.

well I drove home last night just to sleep, it wasnt too bad, albeit a hurricane came-many trees down along with lights out...but at about 4am this morning on my way back to work, heights blvd underneath I10 was getting bad with water,i drove through with no problem....now the first couple of blocks north of i10 power was spotty, but not all...i didn't have power nor did i have water yet...

Are there any updates on the Midtown area? I'm still in Baton Rouge, expecting to come back today, but I'll likely head back tomorrow.

Chief,

I live in the Core, new apartment complex, on Washington Avenue. I am in BR now, I probably need to get my arse back to Houston for work tomorrow.

So, I need your take on the roads. You think I can get back? Also, I found out, my complex has power and everything. If you need anything let me know. I am also willing to make a supply run here in BR before I leave.

If you, CPA, or anyone else are in need of some supples let me know.

re: My update from Houston
Hey Undisputed...sorry, I got busy at work-honestly I thought about going to BR or even Lafyette but I'm not sure about I-10, but like I said I've been a little crazy at work....I do know I-10 is flooded in spots close to downtown but I think its just west of downtown, closer to 610west....I do know of a website thts showing the problem areas around town, houstontranstar.org, I think its been updated throughout the day. I honestly think Houston is okay as far as the roads go...just be careful where you and watch the downed lights..

the gas lines are quite incredible....

the kemah boardwalk was basically destroyed.....didn't know what it looked like before Ike, but wow, it's bad now.

More gas stations are opening sporadically...people are basically camped out around them hoping for them to open.

From the early pictures I've seen, the Boardwalk has seemed to fared pretty well all things considered. Not too sure if the areas on the other side of the channel-fish markets, homes along Toddsville Rd. have sustained serious damage. I know HW 146 going into Seabrook/Kemah is littered with all types of shite.

It's (was?) a pretty cool place, I got shitty drunk there last year and there was some serious talent there fwiw. I'm sure you're not interested in that though.

I liked Kemah much more before Landry's got their dick beaters on that area. Bars/restaraunts were much better several years back.
