Tamiya 1/35 scale German 8ton Half-track 20mm Flakvierling
Sd.kfz7/1

This vehicle represents a flak wagen from the 3rd SS panzer division "Totenkopf" of the II SS Panzer Korp during the Third Battle of Kharkov, Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union. February 1943.

This was my first attempt at a winter whitewash vehicle, there are five figures manning the gun which will come later. "Achtung jabo!" roughly translates as "Attention Fighter-bomber!" to warn the crew of incoming air attack.

Would fit in nicely with the other WW2 insignia already on display.

Try Craggy Island. There's a priest there who was known to have inherited a large collection of memorabilia. Crilly, I think.

That looks great! A 17:1 up to down vote ratio is still too close.

Did the German crews keep score of downed planes with some painted symbols on these?

Yes they did, Although it was much more common on the larger flak guns like the 88mm.

I've heard it said that the German WWII use of "jabo" was primarily regarding the U.S. P47, a big, sturdy aircraft with eight 0.50-cal. machineguns (IIRC the most of that size or larger) and capable of carrying a relatively heavy bomb load. Especially after D-Day, the use of P51s to escort bombers and British Spitfires as interceptors freed up the P47s to perform close air support for Allied infantry, including against German armored vehicles.

Two of the most effective allied fighter bombers during world war two were the American Republic P-47 and the British Hawker Typhoon/Tempest. The Russians had the crude but effective Ilyushin IL-2/IL-10 Shturmovik, referred to by the Germans as the "schwarzer todt"or black death. Jabo is shortened "JagdBomber" which means fighter bomber or hunting bomber
