My roommate just threatened me with violence. Advice?

So my roommate is super pissed at me for a bunch of ridiculous shite. He is mad that I had people over Friday and Saturday nights without telling him. He’s bitching about how I play loud music on the weekends. Today, he accused me of throwing his jacket off our balcony after he draped it over the railing to air out when it was clear as day that the wind easily could’ve done it. I didn’t do it nor would I have any reason to. Absolutely ridiculous thing to fight over. He screamed at me for 10 minutes and said “you better watch your arse, I have a gun in my room.”
Should I let it be and hope he cools down? Report him to the property manager? I fear that he might pull something out of retaliation. Our lease ends in May so moving out isn’t really an option at the moment.

This is a criminal offense, and your first inclination is to talk to the property manager?
