By any measure, Columbus was a piece of shite… even judged by the savagery of the Middle Ages. He did very little (if any) good.

How fricking dumb are you?

That literally connected the eastern and western hemispheres.

He was a fricking trader. You have good tasting food because of people like him.

And this is why Damone doesn’t like him.

The inhabitants of both sexes in this island, and in all the others which I have seen, or of which I have received information, go always naked as they were born, with the exception of some of the women, who use the covering of a leaf, or small bough, or an apron of cotton which they prepare for that purpose.

Cucklumbus didn’t do anything noteworthy

Schools should be teaching kids about Magellan.

Curious what the teacher taught was his good things — I’m sure he did good things - discovering America was a myth on two parts so hopefully that wasn’t taught

When people say he "discovered America" they mean he made it back to Europe with a viable map that allowed others to follow his route. Did someone do that before him?

What were these "good" things?

Columbus Day was just a handout from wokist elites to the masses of unassimilated Italians.

That sopranos episode was hilarious

The scene in the car is pretty much how an OT discussion on Columbus would go

That's about right for 4 years old.

They can learn that he and his brothers were shitty governors later in life.

She’s teaching 4 and 5 yr olds.

She probably told them that he sailed to America what do you want her to say

If he likes Columbo then he's gonna love learning about the conquistadors!

It saddens me that due to Political Correctness we will never have a show with as great a dialogue as Sopranos

Finding out Vito is gay scene is hilarious

Yes, his circumnavigation included a failed mutiny off the coast of South America, another in the Pacific, and him dying in the Philippines getting involved in a civil war between the natives because he was the “boss”. Lots of ships with lots of people dead, including him. But, oh yeah, he circumnavigated the earth.

You mean he wasn't told that Columbus suffered from toxic masculinity and sailed the 7 seas to find brown people to enslave?

I'm jealous that you get that kind of feedback from your son regarding school. I feel lucky to get a grunt at the end of the day.

I just continue to ask him questions until he finally answers or finds something he’s interested in and starts talking.

I think the day is coming soon when he stops doing that

That's why God gave us daughters. I'll interrogate the boys for 10 minutes and get bupkis. Then I turn to my girl and ask "and how was your d.." and then it's a 10 minute whirlwind of the most exciting Tuesday I've ever heard in my life.

Withhold judgement for a year until your child is in public school kindergarten and you see what they learn about Thanksgiving.

That lesson starts in Kindergarten, not pre-K.

Left out some messy truth, but for a 4 year old that’s probably best.
