I can top that.

I was taking down fence boards and passing them to my son to remove the old nails with a hammer. I keep hearing banging and banging and more banging. I look over and he says, “They won’t come out.”

He was banging on the head of the nails with the hammer instead of turning the board around and hitting the pointy end of the nails to push them out. He was also an LSU Mechanical Engineering student at the time.

So whose fault is that? You failed them as a parent. The blame for failed education goes on the teacher, not the student.
