I flew into MSY last week.

On landing, the pilot got a few feet off the runway and throttled back up, went out over the lake and circled back around. Said they needed new wind info.

At the gate, we sat for a long time because of a problem with the jetway. They finally determined the jetway was broken and called for a vehicle to tow us to another gate. It took a while for the tow to arrive.

When they got the tow vehicle hooked up, we sat for a few minutes and the pilot finally told us there was a fuel truck blocking us in and we were waiting for that to be moved.

We were moved 2 gates over and finally allowed to deplane.

I don't even try to park on-site anymore. I get a US Park reservation.

This is why I now fly exclusively out of Lakefront airport. Parking is easy and TSA is a breeze.

I fly every week for work. We stopped during the pandemic but started again in March.

Flew out of the new MSY twice. frick all that noise. It’s a beautiful terminal but the parking and freeway link is a shite show.

Been using BTR exclusively lately and much prefer it. Sometimes I have to connect but I also end up 5 minutes from my car and 25 min from my house when I land in Louisiana. MSY is 50 minutes from my house and 15-20 from parking (sometimes more).

Never understood people not flying out of BTR when they lived in BR. Unless you had one of the few directs BTR didn't there is no way you come out ahead.

Not quick at all sometimes. 30 minute wait last night around 5:30. Wife (no pics) almost missed her flight.

Short term parking is as good as it gets. I don’t know about long term

MSY costs me too much time over BTR. Parking is a mess and Pre Check is a disaster on Monday mornings.

I don’t understand how so many of y’all have problems. I’ve flown MSY 6 times this year. Park in short term, walk into the terminal within 5 minutes, thru TSA in practically no time with Clear and Precheck, and drinking in the SkyClub or a terminal bar a couple minutes later.

Sure it is more expensive to park there but I’ll also be in my car and on the road within 10 minutes of stepping off my plan upon return. You get what you pay for.

3/4 the people on this site are trying to fly as cheaply as possible and can't leave their homes without getting advice from this site on how to handle it.

Here’s a tip. Park in the short term lot right next to the terminal. By the time you pay the parish taxes and fees at the offsite lots that advertise lower rates, it only ends up being about $50 cheaper for a week. And then you walk right out and get in your car.

The short and long term parking have been full a lot more lately, which is odd because we're not in a busy travel season right now.

I flew Thursday around 3:00 last week and could barely find a spot in the Long Term garage. So idk, they could just be full.

It's also really easy for the most part. That's where I always park.
