I’ve had about 15. I once got stuck in the tube when a thunderstorm knocked the power out
I was caught
In the middle of a imaging track (thunder)
I looked 'round
And I knew there was no turning back (thunder)
My mind raced
And I thought, what could I do? (Thunder)
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you (thunder)
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns
Tore me apart
You've been
THUNDERSTUCK

The one for my knee wasn’t so bad. The one for my hip and later shoulder .. oh man. I have to talk myself through the whole thing. I kept saying to myself that If I squeezed that bulb I’d just be right back where I started.
Not fun.
Not fun.

Yeah a couple. First one was in the tube. Never gave it a second thought that it would be an issue. About 30 minutes in things started closing in on me. Tech asked me if I was doing ok. Thumbs up for good, sideways for struggling, down for get me out now. Gave him sideways. He asks if I can make it 10 more minutes. Thumbs up. When I came out my heart rate was 160bpm. Never again.
Second one I insisted on open air. Much better.

I’ve had at least a dozen. Lots of injuries in my past. I fall asleep in them.
All I got.
All I got.

I'm up to 17. The tube doesn't bother me.

I’ve had one. But I was so concussed and out of it they could have dangled me over a cliff with a rotten rope and I would have been none the wiser.

Your username was my issue. They injected me with dye during mine. It was all good during the MRI, but as I’m walking out of the hospital, the Ryan’s bathroom story style assplosion hit me. I barely made it back in the doors.

I had one about 15 years ago.
It cost roughly 1,500 dollars pre Obamacare. I had a measley 500 dollar deductible. Since, I was no where near that, I had to pay 500 out of pocket since it was done at an imaging center. Luckily, they allowed me to split it into 3 payments.
A few years later I had a cat scan of my lower legs done with contrast to see my vericose veins, they did it in office and coded it as an office visit. So the 2,000 charge was included in the visit. All of my vein procedures were considered office visits so I only had to pay 55 or 60 dollars each procedure.

Probably 10+. Not overly enjoyable, but also doesn’t bother me too much.
Following some of the initial dial up tone sounds, I found counting the rhythm of the scans is an effective way of keeping my mind focused on something until I eventually nod off.

I’ve done. 4. Have to just keep your eyes closed and not look at how close the ceiling is.
After Covid I had some low level heart scarring and they did a cardiac one. Imagine the regular one and being bolted down at the arms and chest

I've been in headfirst, completely surrounded in those machines and also fallen asleep. You never know what will affect you or not when it comes to irrational fears.

Yes, multiple and so far non-claustrophobic. My wife, on the other hand, experiences your level of anxiety and dread around the MRI.

Have had 5. Never had a problem. Some are a little more "roomy" than others. One had mirrors configured where when you look up, you actually see part of the room outside of the tube.

I have annual pancreas scans done to monitor a pancreatic cyst for cancerous (carcinogenic) changes. Never had a problem at all with any of the scans.

I've had plenty, and it's never an issue. They can use a machine instead of a tube if you ask.

You could have found a place that does an open MRI
I thought the open mri was worse? At least the tube is rounded above your head. The open MRI I went to was flat on top and closer to my face.

I had to have on on my knee so that wasn't terrible. But i could see myself panicking if I had to go in head first.
ETA- I did have to go in head first once after thinking about it. As long as I kept my eyes closed I was fine.
