I have had four. No problem.

Shoulder was the worst. Right in 2012 and left in 2023. They jam your arse up in this thing on your shoulder and then it seems to last forever. Knee in 2019, not really a full tube scan. Had my back done in 2023 also. You just lie there and listen to the noise for 20 minutes.

Same here. I fall asleep during MRI, Ultrasound scans, CT scans. Ultrasound techs get pissed when they have to wake me up to make me change positions.

shite happens man. My dad worked offshore for years. Got on a helicopter one day to leave for work and caught the clastrophic for the first time ever. He got off and went home. Never went back offshore again. He could barely even ride an elevator after that. Its a strange thing

Ihad about 4 in a month. I was just bored. I guess I'm not claustrophic. However, I don't want to do it again.

have had a couple. i usually fall asleep in them. dont bother me at all.

everyone has their own fears. Claustrophobia is common one. just consider it a learning experience and now you know one of your limitations and if desire, have a goal to overcome.

Kind of depends what you are having the MRI on and the circumstances.

I had one on a knee years ago with little problem.

I freaked out when I had one on my back, but that was partially due to forgetting I had my wedding band on and it started pulsing due to the scan. They had to take the ring from me and restart, but I was on edge the whole time.

I had one on my shoulder a few years ago. The confined feeling didn’t bother me, but the noise, good grief. Those headphones barely help, but I wouldn’t want to have one done without them.

I had to do an MRI yesterday. Strapped me in, snapped some head shite on me, give me ear plugs and sent me in the tiny tube like coffin. I thought, I can handle this. Just close eyes and think of something else. Then the noise and banging shite started. Heart started pounding, started to sweat. I last 3 minutes of what was supposed to be a 45 minute scan. The complete mind frick it is. Squeezed that little ball thing, thought if they can't get me out of here in 2 seconds I will die, destroy this machine, or crap my shorts.

This has never happened to me before but tech said it is common and they have people who have to have benzos to do them.

Was completely defeated the rest of the day. I consider myself to be a strong man. Have gone through some hell in life but man, I felt like a baby and was pretty embarrassed to tell the tech I just can't do it.

Raymond Damadian. I will full blown kick your arse for creating that death chamber of hell.

OP OBVIOSLY doesnt have young kids.

Dont fret though OP, this thread shows you have other pussies to comfort you next time you have to go take pictures.

Are you claustrophobic? I have to be very drugged to do an MRI.

I found out that I was claustrophobic getting an MRI. What I use is a towel over my face and I tell whoever is administering the MRI to take things slow when moving me into the MRI chamber.

The MRI chamber at the VA is the worst; the size of a small trash can.

I've had 3 or 4. Too many CTs to count. The first MRI, the tech handed me the ear muffs after I had already put in foam ear plugs. I said I didn't need them, and she said "Put them on anyway. You might decide you need them". She was right.

The last I had was a couple of years ago before a cardiac ablation. It took at least 45 minutes or an hour. The tech handed me the "panic button" and I told him that I wouldn't need it, as it wasn't my first one and I hadn't had any previous issues. He said, "Take it anyway. Just in case."

He was right. I didn't have to press it, but knowing I could is the only thing that got me through the test.

I’ve done many and sleep like a baby in them, which becomes a problem because I twitch in my sleep.

You should probably avoid float tanks.

That a DI is beating with a baton for the length of the test.

First one bothered me a little, just the top of the machine being so close to your face. I also was unprepared for the noise level. But I closed my eyes and got through it. Last 3 I've had done were fine. I fell asleep during all 3.

Due to my pseudotumor cerebri, I used to have one every year (to make sure a real tumor wasn't there).

I used to go to sleep, even with all the banging noise.
