Charcoal - if only for the fact that it looks better at a funeral. Still extremely versatile.

Personally, I wouldn’t wear a navy suit to a funeral, but I would wear charcoal.

That said, I think every guy should own both a navy and a charcoal suit.

Grey, obviously.

As another poster said, you don't' want to wear a blue suit to a funeral, but grey is close enough to black so that in a pinch it can do.

What if it's a light gray? You'd be better in a navy suit.

My friend once had a tuxedo hanging up in his apartment and I asked him what it was for and when he got a tuxedo. He responded, "what are you talking about? that's the sport coat I wore to my grandmother's funeral." I had never been so embarrassed for somebody. I then proceeded to give him a lesson on men's fashion and what made this particular item a Tuxedo vs. what made something a sport coat and that it was formal wear not fit for something like a funeral.
