More changes are coming to Millersville after a Tuesday city meeting that saw a newly elected commission sworn into office and the abrupt resignation of the city attorney.
Bryant Kroll shook hands with newly-elected mayor Lincoln Atwood after his resignation and left the meeting, which had been underway for about an hour when Dustin Darnall motioned to reduce the attorney's pay from $200 per hour to $15 per hour.
The motion came after a long discussion on how much money the city was earmarking for legal services. During the past year, the city appropriated around $32,000 for legal services on an as-needed basis. Darnall said Millersville had $100,000 appropriated for Kroll.
The attorney chuckled before the vote, which saw the motion pass with one no vote, from Atwood, on the reduction in pay.
"I'll just add that the law has a term for this, it's called breach of contract and inducement," Kroll said as he resigned.
Darnall pulled the measure after Kroll's resignation, meaning the motion to amend the attorney's pay will never actually take effect.

Pulled the resolution after he quit.
They must have had it out for him

Can he still sue for breach of contract?

Depends on the term of the contract.

New commission wanted to give that money to one of their buddies. That’s a Louisiana level move right there.

I'm not sure which side to be on
On one hand, $15 is silly, on the other, lawyers.

Maybe he was a shitty attorney and they wanted to force him out? Just by the looks of him, he looked like he’s worth about $85/hr.

Unless there are outstanding fees for work already performed at the previous rate that they are refusing to pay, I don’t see how this is breach of contract. Clients fire attorneys (and attorneys fire clients) all the time.

He should have kept the position and gave them exactly $15/hr quality work.

Millersville has been a shithole since forever. Backholler good ol' boys.

If I live there, I’d be curious AF what work he actually performed over the past year, or did he just show up to regular meetings?

0 reason a fat dude like that who probably got a 20 on the ACT and went to Tennessee Tech law school deserves $200 an hour. Doesn't even deserve $75 an hour.
$15 is low, but zero chance sizing that beer belly, goatee/fumanchu guy up in this 13 second video is he worth remotely $200 an hour to society. I'd peg him at $40 an hour if I saw him on the street.

200 bucks an hour for a town of less than 6,000 seems high
