Born in 1988, definition of millennial.

I was born into a poor arse family where hard work was the only way to make money. I mowed yards from 10 - 18 to make a buck. I mowed my mom's landlords yard and did other chores for them so we could get a discounted rent and a house that had enough bedrooms. We were fortunate to have an understanding landlord that worked with Mom when rent had to be late.

I didn't go to college. I went to a trade school for computer networking. Graduated that in 09, got a job in '10 in that field in tech support. Have been with that company since 2010 and am now in a senior engineering position, making as much as or even more money than many of my college graduate cohorts, and aiming for management in the next 5 years.

I definitely defy the typical millennial stereotype, but I still see all of the problems my fellow millennials complain about. We have been handed a raw deal, a bad hand, from a societal and economic standpoint. We also can't do much about that until we come into political power, which is beginning to happen. As Boomer politicians retire and die off, Gen X and Millennials will take power and let's hope they can work together to unfrick this country so that our children can thrive.

Same here. I'm from generations of poor farmers, laborers, and fishermen in rural parts of northern states. The majority of my male relatives served in either the Army or Navy. Many of my female relatives have lived unflattering lives, including many instances of divorce and death.

I listen to my elders and recognize the hard lives they've lived to get me where I am today. They had (and some still have) it rough. But that doesn't mean I wax poetic about their lives or feel as if I should humble myself because of their life experiences. The Boomers in my family are very stubborn and avoid critical thinking whenever possible. Maybe your experiences are different than mine though.

Maybe Millennials are picked on by Boomers because we call them out when they screw things up and don't feel shame for doing it.

A big part of the problem is that every generation of parents has tried to make life easier on their children than the hardships they went through. That their children would have an easier life and it finally reached the point it had become too easy. The next generation became spoiled to what they had and never had to go through what it took to achieve that. Now, they expected that lifestyle and material things to be there without having to sacrifice. Maybe that’s where the boomers hurt the next generation but their intent was the same as every previous generation - help their children have a better life. That being said, as a boomer, I’ll put what I did without and how hard I worked an any stage of life, against any of you little whiners complaining about how hard you have it.

Just for the sake of being fair, most of the Gen Z's that are graduating college this year and trying to enter the work force are getting shafted because of the Wuhan Flu.

Not as bad as the 08-09 graduates, but still.
