Boomer. Boomers did.
"Like what you do and you'll never work a day in your life" is something I heard more than once.

I was almost 13 when she died. I loved history and she used to tell me some stories, and I'd ask a bunch of questions. Of course, I understand it all better now. I was telling my kids (ages 21 and 18) about it the other day, and they couldn't believe I actually knew someone who remembered the Titanic. Pretty cool.

I never said anything is guaranteed but I applied to 4 engineering jobs, none in biological engineering which I graduated in and didn’t get them because I didn’t have the experience. Thankfully I have exceptionally supportive parents who busted their asses (who taught that to me) and supported me getting a masters.
With that I was able to land a great job that has propelled me to where I am today, but to just completely gloss over the fact that a lot of boomers pushed so many kids to go to college even if they didn’t need too only to find out now that everyone went to college, it wasn’t impressive enough to get a lot of entry level jobs.

Well my boomer parents taught me otherwise.
True millenial 1983 here. Not some kid that is dragging us down as a group of whiners

Straight question. Did your masters get you the job or did the job market change in that time frame?

Bruh you are borderline X and millennial. I’m 87 and I’m not some whining ninny baby. I just know the reality of a lot of people.
I’m also the person who thinks federally backed student loans are what truly fricked an entire generation by allowing costs to skyrocket and giving “free” money to anyone and everyone regardless of employment prospects/idiot majors.

Masters got me the job. I was able to pretend just enough to be an expert on industrial wastewater treatment and then have a credential stating I was. Without that, I doubt I even get interviews.

There were jobs. You guys thought you were better than what was out there.
You're a dumb arse. I'm sure you didn't enter the work place in 2009. I didn't think we were better. I had to move to some shite hole town I didn't want to live in and work at a job I would outgrow in less than a year.

Gen Z is being described as more conservative.
That hasn't been my expierence in dealing with Gen Z. I've hired a few. Lazy, no initiative, coupled with an attitude of being owed something.

To be fair, particularly in the O&G and downstream production industry, a lot of boomers had to do this too

A lot of people confuse millennials with gen z

I remember kids straight out of college quitting off the rig floor from 2008-2010 because they missed mama and didnt want to get dirty. Ran 2 off in 3 days because they couldnt even wake up for the shift and get dressed on time.

We are experiencing a time that no one could be prepared for.
That’s bullshite but I don’t expect you to understand why or notice any fault of your own.
We would’ve been prepared if your generation hadn’t taken a shite on the blue collar middle class and moved all manufacturing to China and Asia while selling the great lie that a college education is the end all be all of job requirements and working for free as in intern until you’re 30 builds character.
frick you and your entire generation.
Your parents worked their asses off to give your generation a better life and all you did in return was act like a spoiled brat, destroy the entire industries your parents built, and take a shite on your own kids and tell them to fend for themselves rather than pay it forward.
Boomers. What an absolutely pathetic generation.

Well nobody can argue with the moving of manufacturing to an enemy country. That shite was dumb and greedy. But it takes 2 to tango and people buy that cheap shite.
That said the people that made those decisions to move it are a very small percentage of the population

That one article/study that went around is BS
Not sure what article but I know way more conservative teens than Conservative millennials - but on the flip side the snowflake zoomers I have met are in another level. Incels and Bernie bots like David Hawg, the how dare you chick, & the mini Sienade O’Connor chick have had way more than their fair share of the limo light. Older millennial parents encourage that behavior. Drag queens librarians, gender cocktail transformation kits, and academia reprogramming will take it’s toll on GenZ. If there will be a civil war - I think the Zoomers will be the ones to start it. The conservative kids absolutely hate their leftist counterparts.
