Oaklawn is the gayborhood, not that there's anything wrong with that. It's a good area of the city. Close to lots of other areas.

As a woman, you used to work there huh?

Or as a man as a bouncer?

Oaklawn is the gayborhood. I actually lived there with my gf at the time for about a year. Very clean and great people. I like the area

How do you know about the Tin Room is the better question. Been there and the Roundup a few times?

I’m a straight woman with gay male friends who live in Oak Lawn, and it was mentioned on The Real Housewives of Dallas.

My wife lived on the street behind Bob’s on Lemmon when we were dating. I always loved walking around the restaurants there. The people were always more friendly then Uptown. This is circa 2011-2013.

My wife(woman) & I have a townhouse in Oak Lawn. It is a great place to live & very safe. The ultra gay area is west of Lemmon. We live in the area east of Lemmon near Highland Park where it is a mixture of gay/straight. This is the place to be since Uptown has gotten sketchier at night & prices are out of control. Check out the new apartments called the Novel on Oak Lawn Avenue. The Equinox gym by us has to be seen to be believed. You will not regret living in Oak Lawn.

Oak Cliff is really nice if you can afford it. The Kessler Park area is one of my favorite neighborhoods in the metroplex

I lived on Herschel for three years. It’s a very nice, quiet neighborhood close enough to Uptown without being in the middle of it. I still miss Eatzi’s.

Oak Lawn is nice. We rented a unit there while renovating our house and enjoyed it.

Uptown is old hat to me, lot of Plano folk on the weekends. Good place for yuppies to meet people though.

East Dallas and Oak cliff have some great neighborhoods. Totally different vibe than uptown.

Knox street at Cole/McKinney is a great area too.

I've been in Flower Mound the last 1.5 years, and while the area is perfect, it's just too damn far from everything.
