So I found a small affordable warehouse in Dallas for my business and will be moving near it. I've looked at some nice apartments in the Oak Lawn area of the city. I'll likely rent a 2 bedroom apartment from them. I'm just wondering if that's a good area of the city? It looked really cool when I visited, lot's of bars and stuff. Any help will be appreciated.

Whatever you do, do NOT ride in an open air limousine near Dealey Plaza in November.

Uptown and Oak Lawn are walking distance to each other. (Technically the whole area is “Oak Lawn.”)

There are a lot of great new apts on the katy trail, which is convenient and a great way to walk to bars and restaurants, AAC etc. Would look around there. Tons of options.

Oaklawn is the gayborhood but most of the gays live in a couple of complexes and the rest is fine. I assume your warehouse is in/around the design district, there's some nice places around there too.

Oak Lawn is nice, but living in the uptown area can be pricy.

It's also miserably hot here right now

It's really not any more expensive than anywhere else. Apartments at 75/635 are like $50/month cheaper and you're going to spend way more than that commuting.

With that said, I wouldn't live in uptown as it's gotten pretty ghetto. Tons of car break ins and they've opened a couple of bars that let's just say don't attract a desirable clientele.

If I was going to have to live somewhere close to uptown, it'd either be victory park or as far north in uptown as possible (west village area). But I'd just live around Greenville over both of those.

Oak Lawn is fine. Wife and I lived in Bryan Place and went to Oak Lawn pretty frequently.

The crosswalks are painted rainbow if you're into that sort of thing

Yep. That area is blowing up. Dallas led the country in the first half of 2022(and 2021) with new commercial construction and most of it is in Uptown and Deep Ellum

If you like the outdoors the Katy Trail is amazing

I've run hundres of miles on it, but it's just a paved running trail shaded by trees. If anything is amazing about it, it's all the cardio bunnies
