Wait until you hear how much they paid for the land! Once they figured out it was Meta coming in, land prices went up 100x

I understand that it gets hot as shite. My question focuses more on the ground than the water part. If it’s in Shreveport, why not use the Red River for industrial purposes and reserve the ground water for drinking.

---Maybe because Shreveport isn't in Richland parish?

Renewable energy, aka destroy more of some of the most fertile delta ground in the world for a inferior, subsidized, bs scam. Solar.

Put a fricking NG plant.

I said in another thread, damn I’m an idiot sometimes. I thought this was in Shreveport for the life of me and I have no idea why.

There doesn’t appear to be any major surface body of water close by, so yeah this will be ground water.

Be fairly close to my place. Hope they don't come to me for advice. I'm busy.

How many jobs will this bring?

5000 construction jobs was the big number that stood out to me. Its a 4 million sq foot facility so might take a little time to build it.

Also, Entergy is supposedly building 3 NG facilities that will help accommodate so those will be extra jobs as well.

I suppose it would be a good thing for the parish however.

And article I read said that Facebook will be committing $200 million to the roads and infrastructure as a way to offset their water needs

$10B is an insane number for a company that doesn’t really “sell” anything. Oh wait.

Your user data is the backbone of Meta AI (same as Elon with X and Gronk), but everyone really should be shitting their pants about Google’s upcoming demise and what they’ll be forced to do with user data when the stock hits the crapper.

I ask myself only one question.

How can/will Louisiana screw this up?

Not nearly as many as you'd think. These places are minimally staffed, relative to the enormous size of the sites and facilities. I was loosely involved with one in Illinois.

Good economic news for the state

Minimal jobs and huge drain on the infrastructure…especially power grid. Also, I’m guessing they got substantial tax breaks so probably nothing there.

I may be wrong but how does this help other than Anne a boost to supporting industries? Data centers aren’t labor intensive.
