If you're free to do and go as you please as well as spend your money on yourself as you please then your wife should be shown that same freedom, correct? If so then why are you married? Marriage is the choice to share your life with someone, that includes your time. That doesn't mean you spend 24/7 together of course not, but it does mean to have enough courtesy and respect for your partner to make sure everything is cool about what your plans are that doesn't include her. I've been married 26 years and the older I get I just want to hang out with my naked wife over drinking beer with some dudes.

I think you misunderstood. I'm mocking the OP's whole concept.

I ask my wife if I can shag her all the time, apparently I need her permission or it’s frowned upon.

To be fair - A lot of men say they’ll talk to their SO and get back to you, but it’s not for permission. It’s because they either don’t know if they already have plans, or they don’t want to hang out and it’s easier to make someone else the bad guy
My SO said the other day, “Let me check with LL and let you know” to his friend asking us both to lunch the next day... while I was sitting right next to him. He just didn’t want to go and didn’t want me to say yes while the friend could hear.

I don’t blame her shite is annoying. And my social calendar is saved to my work cal just for ease, so I can’t share it with him since he’s out of network.

Mine never “asks permission” but he does check to make sure that there isnt something that we haven’t talked about or that has come up. He’s great about this — especially when the kids were home. It’s more common courtesy than anything.

Congrats on your soon to be miserable marriage and future divorce. 99% of the time if I say that I either don’t want to do what you are suggesting, or it’s bc I literally don’t care to keep track of all our plans. She handles that crap so I don’t have to, just like I handle all the man crap so she doesn’t have to. You add the kid’s crap into the mix and it’s even more plans than I ever want to try to remember.
She is my best friend and I love my kids, so of course I am going to check with the schedule keeper before I make any plans.

Dude, you're super angry for no reason. OP wasn't about important decisions regarding your kids. It was about playing Call of Duty. Everything I have said in this thread is sarcasm.

It usually goes like this if it’s just 2weeks to a few days before,
“ hey babe, do we have anything going on _________?” “If not then I’m going _____”.
Or if it’s a month+ in advance it’s “Hey babe, I’ll be gone from ________ to _______ so don’t plan anything”.
Then there are times where she’ll get a few minutes to an hour warning, “Hey I’m going _____ be back Sunday afternoon”, Sorry for the late notice”.
Its all a game. They play the same way.

Have you always been one with the need to point out your alpha status or did the habit begin when she started cheating on you?
ETA:
This absolutely screams "I'm a man".
This board is full of immature "baws".

In my house, I do whatever I want. First, my wife tells me what I want, then I do it.
