You’re old enough to be married and play video games. That’s really fricking pathetic

Why would anyone man or woman need to get anyone’s permission to do anything or spend money they earned themselves? I don’t understand why men who work hard give their wives free reign of their money either.

When you both work and have young kids you kind of have to make plans for someone to keep them

When you have combined bills and expenses you can't usually just spend whatever you want just because you earned it

I bet you ask if you are allowed to jerk off. Probably ask your fat GF if you can eat the box of Lucky Charms

You let your wife break the seal don’t you?? Rubbing around the bung hole is one thing but you seem like the kind of guy who lets her break the seal....

If you have a kid, I don't really think there's anything wrong with saying "hey do you mind if I go play golf in the morning?" with the understanding that she won't mind. It's just the courteous thing to do.

I know some guys who use that as a handy trick to get out of things. The wife is in on the trick. Your married “baws” probably would rather not play video games with you.

Had to kick this beta out of the clan because he always had a crying baby. Like get your shite together real men are trying to game here

It's just about communication in my house. "I think I'm gonna go play in the computer tonight after kid goes to bed". So then she knows she can count on doing something besides watching TV together. Gives her the opportunity to say she'd prefer if I didn't so we can spend time together or something like that.

Eta

Or like the poster above me said, if she's gonna have to watch our child by herself it's common courtesy to make sure she's cool with that. She does the same for me.

When you have kids and both husband and wife work, it's a 2nd job to come home for mommy/daddy duty. It would be incredibly selfish of me to just assume that my time is more important than her time. Most of the time if I want to go do something without her and dump the kids off on her, she'll be ok with it. But there are times that she's not feeling well, or she has something to do too. So it's common courtesy to not necessarily ask permission, but to run it by her that I want to go do something without her and the kids. It's called being a team.

I’m having a baby in December; can’t wait to use the baby shield.

Somebody invites me to do something I really don’t want to do, “aw man I have to watch the baby tonight.”

Well aren’t you a badass. I happen to like my girl, so I typically ask or give her a heads up out of respect. I also ask because I’m a moron and forget everything we ever have planned.

ETA: I’m also a moron and quoted the wrong person. Meant to reply to OP. This wasn’t for you, Bear
