I know trends and tastes come and go, but i just can't understand this current trend of dudes liking these chicks with dump truck asses.

I find Megan attractive.
I think a lot of the guys who are highly critical of women like her come from an older demographic where the bottom 10% of guys had to settle for overweight women, and were stigmatized for it. So, they aim for <115 pound women, and loudly disavow anyone larger.
The tables have turned. The bottom 60% of guys born post-1990 won't get anywhere near a naked woman unless they visit a flat-out prostitute. The next 20% or so will get the option of settling for a really unattractive, undesirable chick.
Among the top 20% of men, the bottom half will have access to women who are flawed or unconventional but not totally repulsive: the size 12s, black women, etc.
Only the top 10% will really be able to have their pick, and they will pick whoever they want. Some of them will get with big black women out of preference. More will probably go for the Skipper-by-Mattel women that seem to excite the over-50 crowd here. But in any case, this dichotomy of "real men vs. men who have to settle for fat chicks" has gone the way of the dodo bird and the defined benefit pension.
