Is it even actually rib meat? I've never had a McRib or a Big Mac in my life.

Nope. It's ground, compressed, and formed pork shoulder. Basically, McDonald's "brings it back" when it can get pork meat really, really cheap and then "discontinues it" when pork prices are higher.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence they are doing this when pork prices are at multi-year lows.

This nasty arse elementary cafeteria food is a master class in marketing. Fats go crazy when this thing comes back.

Does this marketing ploy with McRib coming and going actually work? Who is eating a McRib?

That's the best freaking sandwich on the menu...
I'd say it's better than any BBQ in the New Orleans area outside of Luling

Correct. The holiday hams are coming. It will be “Back for a Limited Time” again just before Easter.
Pro tip. Bacon is usually cheaper when the McRib is back for the same reasons.

How does Watson LA get the McRib, but the New Orleans area gets zero?

That just pisses me off even more.
They said it wasnt coming back, now its back but 4 hours away.

I was already sold on it. You can stop with the salesmanship.

Gonzo's.

Pork prices are highly seasonal due to pig breeding cycles related to weather. They are usually cheapest in the winter.

I don't understand how anyone can complain instead of being awed by this delicious miracle of modern science.
