That may be a starting salary which, of course, doesn't account for their very generous benefits package or overtime.

Will they screw up my order still for $15/hour

These people don't realize that people who are actually worth that 15 dollars per hour have a better work ethic and are better employees and will result in them losing their jobs, even if these positions don't all get automated first.

These comments on this thread are awesome. I see a lot of the idiots from the echo chamber Chiming in. "Black people working fast food want raise! Stupid Childeren on Obama. MAGA is gonna fix this shite!"

I read every comment in this thread and MAGA, black people, and Obama weren't brought up until you did.

Sure why not pay them $15/hr..... lets see how many of those $25 combo meals they sell Fast food is over priced as it is IMO.

If it would go up to $15/hr then there is a chance more people would apply that would be able to replace those wanting $15.00

.if Taco Bell, Canes, Wendys, Burger King, etc are paying their employees $15/hour then MCD should as well

Uh and why is this? What is your logic?

because if you don't then your franchise is going to end up like Chuches Fried Chicken. There's a reason why Popeyes has been as successful as they have.

If every other fast food joint is paying $15/ hr and MCD is still only paying $10/hr, you're going to get the bottom of the barrel wanting to work for you and you'll have no choice but to hire anyone with a pulse if you want to keep your doors open.

Let em move to Gulf Shores Alabama. This summer I noticed every fast food place was hiring and average salary was $12/hr. Seems like a good place.

I see Cane's employees are working.

I would pay Cane's and Chick fil a employees $15 before McDonald's.

Don't they see if what should be a minimum wage job goes to $15, then starting skilled jobs will have to go to $20-$25 and everything will be pushed up?

Min wage should be dictated by free markets. Just let everyone else's pay.

They went with the smart, go-to move to get people sympathetic to their plight: blocked a major intersection.

There are plenty of $10-$12 an hour retail Jobs that are better that require no education. If you don't like McDonald's find one of those and STFU

I see Virginia gives people 5 days in jail for blocking intersections (cop friend on FB who works in DC shared the story today) I wish all states followed suit.

frick that shite. Do they not care by blocking intersections they are likely costing fellow service workers money. Also most line cooks make around $15 an hour. A line cook has a lot more skills than a fast food cook.
Restaurants can't afford to pay $20 an hour and they couldn't get cooks if fast food cooks make the same pay. Hell if I were a cook and my choices were a high volume restaurant at $15 or McDonalds, I would pick Mcdonald's every time.
I spent a few years of my life as a line cook slaving away for $10 an hour.

Most small towns/cities and sheriff depts in Louisiana make like 11 or 12/hr. Bigger cities in Louisiana like Baton Rouge start out around 13 or 14/hr then move up from there.

No, you work your way into positions that pay better than minimum wage. Or you find ways to get the education/training you need for a career.

The people on the wrong side of this argument do not understand supply and demand.

Politicians who "support" this idea do not take it seriously. It's a political football.

If Taco Bell, Cane's, Wendy's, BK, etc is paying $15 an hour then they should go apply there.
That's how getting more money works.
