I love the people trying to turn this into s bad thing.
She honestly seems like she isn’t doing a half bad job and is at least 20x better than Mitch was for the city. This is watching from 1000 miles away though.

Cantrell has her issues for sure, but she didn't like Bitch Landrieu and she was criticized for letting a small group of confederate statue supporters try and decide how to relocate the statues. If she was that racist, she wouldn't have even considered speaking to anyone about relocating any statues.

Those events have been in place for years and people come down here specifically for those events giving an extra boost to the economy. A summer parade just isn't a good idea. She was probably just trying to be diplomatic by talking about it being a strain on resources.

No - its a krewe that up till this, had only paraded during the trad Mardi Gras period. Its not just this one parade that was an issue. If you allowed Nyx to do this in the summer, how could you deny any of the other krewes that wanted to do the same thing. I've had issues with some of Cantrell's actions thus far, but she dd the right thing on this one.

I am just trying to figure out the Nyx Captains angle. She seems to be the type who doesn’t get out of bed without their being something in it for her. Certainly she had an angle in announcing all of this without even securing the permit first.
