Or are they flimsy? I know lots of you like them, but I need a pair of sunglasses that can take a bit of a beating. What has been your experience?

The ones I got for the wife didn't make it a year.

I have a pair of MJ aviators that are 10 years old.

The lense pops out occasionally, but I just pick it up and pop it back in.

Obviously it depends on the frame. I have a wayfarer-ish style that have held up fine. I'm sending them in for repairs now, but what I did would have required repairs for Costas or anything else.

Exactly this. I've had two different pairs break on me. One was hinged, the other hingeless.

I think they have elite, top tier lenses in terms of quality, but mediocre frames when it comes to durability.

Mine are a very light frame and have held up pretty well. I'm very careful with them though. If they aren't on my face, they are in the compartment in the ceiling of my truck in a microfiber bag. I've had them for about 3 years now.

I've only owned Maui's since i graduated college. I love them. Now i don't konw about "taking a beating" as i typically get the wirefame type.

As someone who owns Maui Jim and Costas, I'd just get Knockaround's with the polarized lenses. For 30 bucks they're ridiculously good sunglasses.

Same. I also actually prefer Revo's polarization/color enhancing lenses.

This doesn't apply to the metal ones but my ray bans actually deformed in my car's sunglasses compartment due to heat. I avoid keeping them in my car when I'm not physically in it.

i have 3 pair of Peahi. Big full frames. Have had great luck. A pair got crushed in my work bag and broke the hinge. Sent them in and for a moderate charge they put a complete new frame. They were already 4 years old at least.

Mine were fine until I left them on my back bumper and let the tailgate down on them.

I have a pair of Canoes that I've had for 3 years. They are still in great shape.

Here's a tip. If you send them off, they'll charge you 70$ to "repair" them, they sent me a brand new pair in the mail.

Some of you may ask, "kwalt1989 how do you know this?" Well I had a broken lens, dog had chewed up the frame a bit. Sent them off to get lense fixed, got a new pair. In the plastic, not chewed up.

I wear mine all the time even swimming and fishing. They look just as good as 6 years ago when I bought them. They are frameless and hingeless. They stay tight, but not too much to where my fat head feels squeezed like many glasses do.

Ray-Ban guy here. Have had two pairs (club masters and Wayfarers) and have never had an issue with either.
