Ray-Ban guy here. Have had two pairs (club masters and Wayfarers) and have never had an issue with either.
yeah I'm an RB Aviator owner currently but they haven't held up well. I guess wire frames don't do well being tossed on the dashboard of the truck
or dropped

Mine broke in less than a year. Sitting on my desk to be sent off for repair

Never been a huge aviator guy. Wayfarers are the way Togo if you are looking for durability

Gamma ray cheaters, $6, polarized lenses

Had multiple pairs, none of them held up well at all

I've had them for years. They do break occasionally, but, Maui Jim has the best customer service/return department which rivals Amazon IMO. I literally send back my glasses every few months just to get new ones for $15-$20.00 if the lens deteriorate or if the frame breaks.

I still have a pair with Rx lenses in them from 2008. As long as you're not careless with them they will last.

I bought a pair (in Maui ironically) in June 2011. The lens began to get a discoloration or blemish, so I sent it to them and they sent me a new pair in 2015. Still have that pair. I love them. Sturdy as hell with thicker frame for wearing while exercising, fishing, etc.

Wife and I went to the Dominican Republic. They took our luggage from the taxi and dropped them off in our room while we were checking in. Before they left they opened up my suitcase and stole my Maui Jim glasses. Maui Jim does not hold up well at all.
On a side note I still have my $4.99 shades I bought at a crappy store in the Dominican though. They are holding up very well.

I had mine for 7 years before I stepped on them. I needed a new pair anyway. A branch knocked them off and I loss my footing and crushed them.
The other time they broke I sent them in and they fixed them for free.
So only broke twice in 7 years. Plus they do have a light frame. Glasses used to give me head aches, Mau jims I forget they are even on.
My current pair is on year 3. But looking at some of the responses, people just don't take care of their shite.

Frames can be flimsy depending on what you get. Do you take care of your glasses?
Mine have held up over 2 years so far. Best lens in the price range imo

F no. Dont buy them. Ive spent enough on repairs to buy two pairs of Costas, and wish I had.
I'm looking forward to the day i actually lose them.

My Maui's do not hold up. I have three pairs and the nose piece has broken on all multiple times. However, Maui has an extremely good replacement and warranty. I've never paid for repairs. Usually get a week/two turnaround.
Costa holds up a little better and has a comparable warranty to Maui.
Ray bans hold up the best but it's $60 for repairs and takes about a month.
Edit: All three essentially offer a lifetime warranty. I've sent them in for manufacture defects (nose piece), sitting on them, dog chewed up (7 fricking pairs, but he's a good dog). If the glasses are no longer manufactured Maui will send the new model in replace.

I am not a buyer of expensive sunglasses because I can never keep from losing them.
But I played in one of my GC clients annual golf tourney this year and everyone got a pair at registration that morning. I chose a pair of Stone Crushers and have had them since August. They have held up well but I have no standard to compare them to since I usually buy the $20 glasses and lose them in two months. I guard my $200 free glasses much better than the cheap ones I usually buy.

The frames on my aviators did just fine, but I threw them in the car console all the time and the lenses are pretty scratch up after 3 years.

Bought 2 pairs and you will have to ask the thieves that took them how they are holding up. JMs don't come back like $5.00 plastic shades.
