There was definitely an over correction when it comes to long term mental health facilities. They went from Cukoo’s nest to almost nonexistent. Some people can be treated and released, some can get better with only outpatient care, but some people legitimately need to be permanently institutionalized for the safety of themselves and the general public.

And again, we have a person who indicated he was a threat to society shooting a bunch of innocent people.
I’m not sure how to handle or solve these kinds of problems, but once someone with mental health issues says they’re going to kill people, someone should figure out how to get control of them.
