Exciting morning here. Flying United from San Diego to Houston. About 30 minutes in, all the masks dropped. No communication from the pilots until about 10 minutes after. Apparently depressurization as everyone’s ears started popping. Flight was diverted to Phoenix. Fire trucks met us on the runway. Scary shite.

Had the same thing happen on a flight landing in Honolulu about 4 years when we hit the runway very hard landing. I was like damn let's not do that again.

Actually scary scenario.
What was the environment like on the plane? There’s always someone ready to scream bloody murder in those types of situations.

Mostly people remained calm. I was surprised. Some kids crying but that was about it. Applause when we landed. I think if an engine was on fire then it’d be different.

That's fricking insane! I would have been going mad after about 30 seconds and no announcement on wtf was going on.

Hope United ponies up some freebies for you and everyone else.

They do this when they have extra chem-trail juice.

Cant be landing with that stuff on board.

I prefer the pilots focus on keeping me alive, but that's just me.

Maybe they were starting to suffocate because their parents were following the flight attendant instructions in making sure their masks were secure before assisting them.

Aircrew was probably a little busy at the moment. Aviate. Navigate. Communicate. In that order.

That's fair. Maybe it took 10 minutes to diagnose the problem and do something about it (or figure out not able to do anything?).

0 minutes is still a long damn time for that.

Based on your years of experience as a pilot?
