At least you came prepared with your inflatable vest already on.

Yeah yeah. I thought twice about that comment and removed it.

So, you would have demanded to speak to a manager?

Obviously not, baw, and not what I was implying. I didn't mean angry mad, I meant "losing my mind" mind. You are lying if you say that you wouldn't be panicking like hell in that situation.

I found the Mentor Pilot and Pilot Debrief channels on Youtube about a year ago.

After watching a bunch of their videos, I don't want to fly again.

Hope United ponies up some freebies for you and everyone else.

Pilots were probably busy up front making sure they were flying the plane and going through checklists. I bet they had their hands full.

I’m waiting on 777 to start a new thread

“This morning my co-pilot bet me I couldn’t make the passengers all scream at once with the flip of one little switch”

:)

Oxygen bars charge a good bit for that. Take advantage while it’s free.

Better than the 3 ounces of watery beverage and 5 mini pretzels they were going to hand out.

was on a plane in 2012... coulda been me.

777 still has the monopoly on these types of posts. IIRC, ex Mrs 777 was quoted as hoping 777 was flying one of the planes on 9/11.

Damn dude. How was the vibe from the other passengers? Any overly dramatic screamers?

Gotta ditch that dorky looking vest, my man

Instead of wearing a fedora like Indiana Jones, he’s rocking a vest like Han Solo.

Now if he could only do something about that Jew fro. But maybe the fro gets him street cred with black clients.

No screamers. Folks were definitely nervous and that was only exacerbated with the lack of communication. Flight attendants were calm which helped.

My assumption would be pilots were as calm as cucumbers in this instance, it takes A LOT to put fear into experienced commercial pilots up in the skies. From what I hear from them, short of the plane plummeting from the skies, fires, and parts of the plane falling off, they do not get flustered at all

My guess us thet were just going through checklists and protocols in a calm and efficient manner in order to 1 diagnose and 2 determine next course of action and communicating that to ATC

Thanks for the selfie. For a second there I didn’t believe you.

ETA: I’m already scared of flying, so if this happened on my flight there’s a legit chance I would shite my pants and pass out.

I was flying to Atlanta last week and we went to land and all the sudden pilot pulls us back in the air right at the time the wheel where about to touch the ground.

We circled and then landed safely. I do not fly often but that was the first time that has happened to me. I'm still wondering why and how close I was to dying.
