As opposed to the calm, introspective screamers?

One reactive yelp is acceptable. Continued screeching would make a man hope it goes down just to shut em up.

That happened to me once! Decades ago. It was some sort of air pocket or something, the explanation was hard to hear, but we had sudden turbulence (I've had worse) and they dropped.

Said it should not have happened, some failure in the system, and we were close to our destination and landed. Sunny, great day outside. Uneventful flight otherwise. I heard people praying and screaming even though the ride had turbulence for maybe 5 seconds. People really lost their minds until the flight attendants were up and talking and calming everyone down.

They gave us flight credit, so essentially another free flight at same price. I was in college and had a few cocktails on the plane and was pumped to get that money back/free flight

ETA:

I have no idea if there's a "drop masks" button in the cockpit but my theory was always the pilots did it by accident

that was only exacerbated with the lack of communication.

I'd rather the Pilots be flying the plane and not talking to me at that point. As the old saying goes, "Aviate, Navigate, Communicate...."

the 727 was bad the about the masks dropping out of their PSUs during turbulence, or "less than smooth" landings

A real man wouldn't have used the mask.

Shouldn't the pilot and copilot put their masks on first and then aviate, etc.?

Or has a study been done testing how long pilots can work well without oxygen.?
