Married baws with kids; how often do you have to get away from the family for a few days?

I try to get off to camp & hunt/fish at least 4-5 times per year.

I haven’t had a chance to get out in 3 months and need to badly. I’m headed out to camp and catch crappie at the end of the week...it feels amazing...like you used to feel the week leading up to summer break.

Never. I'm sad when I've got to be away.
My wife and kids are the best part of my life.

Never. I wish I could fish more, but it's not to get away from my wife and kids.

All I really like is a few hours here and there to myself. I don't like leaving my family for an extended time.

Occasional business trip. Other than that never. Kids too young and require too much attention?

Don't mind it when the wife goes visits her folks a couple of times a year. Otherwise, I'm not looking to get away anymore.

Kids 3 & 6.
I work from home, so I do wake up, breakfast, school dropoff, school pickup, and the occasional sick home day...then we each take 1 to wash and get to bed. My days are long.

I don’t apologize for needing a break.

I hate being away from my family when I travel. I cannot wait till kids get old enough to come with me on trips.

These kinds of threads are always fascinating to me. Everyone on Tigerdroppings acts like they have a perfect marriage and love being with their kids 24/7 and in reality I do not know a single person like this.

It's up there with everyone making 100k a year or more

If you get divorced, you can see them every other weekend. Win-win.

1 and 3. I work from home. Get them ready and fed. Wife takes them to daycare and picks up. I have dinner ready when they get home and we both play and wash them. Split off for bed time. I love every second with them.

Although I do enjoy some time with just the wife and myself after they go to bed. I absolutely hate the time away from them if I have to travel.

I don't like being away from them for long periods of time. It's nice to get a few hours to myself, our when my kids spend the night with his Grandma. But I'm always ready for him to come home.
