That sucks.

I get that when it’s your time to be beamed up, it’s your time.

Nonetheless, talk about a shitty time to depart, and under highly unlikely circumstances no less.

Prayers to his widow and his family.

Poor bride. She must have been absolutely shocked.

Especially if she had her toes in the water too.

Maybe not a plan, probably the wrong wording, but I definitely believe when you number is up, your number is up.

My B-I-L was killed in a car accident, back in the 90’s, outside of Fort Worth. He was traveling in the middle lane on the interstate, speeding drunk driver losses control of his car, it crosses the center line and goes airborne landing on the top of my B-I-L’s car crushing it. Minute faster or slower, he probably would’ve avoided it.

This is when I started believing in the numbers up thing..

My version of this. In Tampa in the early 90's, some babysitter was walking a little boy on the sidewalk. Some distance away, someone fired a .22 into the sky. When the bullet returned to earth, it came down right through the little boys head and dropped him on the spot. Time was up for that poor kid and new fear unlocked for me.

Better chance of winning lottery than being hit by blue sky lightning. But both happen.

Damn.

Just more proof that when your number is called, that's it.

His poor wife.

This is not something most people are aware of. It is a fact, lightning is common a LONG way from active storms. This is a tragic story and probably no precaution that could have prevented it.

Jay Johnson knows.

God is cruel. Also the numbers thing. Stupid logic. You think God has us all numbered up ready to be called to our death? Humans can determine when someone dies . The terrorist attack in New Orleans...you think all the deceased had pre determined numbers picked out by all mighty God? That a-hole terrorist is the one who determined those deaths.
