Hopefully its nothing bad, prayers up.

My dad recently had a very similar incident and it turns out he had this bacteria in his gut that was causing it. They thought it was his heart, then discovered the anemia, then discovered the bacteria causing the anemia. He is back to 100% now. Hopefully yours is something with a quick fix.

to see exactly what is going on but I'm beyond scared.

Keep your head up, man. I'll throw some prayers and good vibes your way for sure.

And if it is cancer, just face it and fight it however you can. I started with my cancer shite last summer and it's been an odd journey so far. Hopefully yours is something manageable (like mine was/is) and not too serious. And they say staying positive about it actually does help the process.

And maybe something else just has your numbers out of whack, and it's something more easily fixable. Good luck, man.

know that fear. 3 of my moms siblings have had blood disorders. 2 were leukemia, and one was a Myelofibrosis. i go to see my oncologist once a year for blood work, all my numbers are borderline normal low range or just barely low, but have stayed fairly consistent for the past 20 years

You got this no matter what happens if you have Jesus in your heart. Sounds like you do.

So you have an intense craving for ice?
I was anemic to where I needed 3 units of blood, iron transfusions (painful black goo in your veins) and Micerna shots. But the only symptom rant was intense ice cravings and weakness.
Hope it isn't big C. Lots of things cause anemia.

It could be a lot of things but prayers sent.

Please read this - about, I dunno, five years ago it was literally something like 615am and I got a call from one of the doctors at the local ER. He was like...come in now....as in now....as in now now now.

It turns in my previous blood test, just done a day before, my potassium was crazy off.

Now I don't know how many of you reading this have some kind of medical degrees (I don't) but I found out later this is really serious (no joke). Potassium is one of the drugs used to put people to death and to put animals to sleep.

When I arrived they literally had the "reanimate this dead guy" heart team ready thinking I would (might) need it. Funny because I drove myself in and picked up a McGriddle. They all scratched their head about the not needed alert and went back to their other BS.

The doctor (a wonderful man who has helped me so much over the years) ordered tests - immediate. The funny thing is - and I remember this to this day it still cracks me up - is that there was this med school/student/internist guy who sort of kind of got assigned to me and of course I asked WTF and he just shook his head and said because all the other numbers were ok to be 100 percent safe they would recheck, but I would probably be on my way in 45 minutes and that the whole thing was just "Doctor X being typical Doctor X".

He said you are fine we just have to - "Check Your K".

I was home 40 minutes later, clean bill.

Now why did I write all that? RELAX. I am not saying all is good, I am saying it might be a mistake and guess what with medicine these days almost all kinds of things are possible to help patients.

The point of my too long post is...RELAX.

My wife went in to the hospital with similar. After bout a week of plasmapheresis, she was diagnosed with TTP. It is rare so most hematologists are unaware. There is a world-class specialist in Gainesville, at Shands. There is now a great one in Lakeland, at Watson Clinic.

If this is your diagnosis, the first step is 80 mg of Prednisone steroids, daily, to kickstart your marrow.

Good luck.

Sending good thoughts your way

While no doubt scary to hear and easy to let your mind go there when they set you up with a literal oncologist, should be STRESSED that a bunch of different things cause anemia

Totally understand why its hard right now to keep that in perspective and I bet id be in the same place as you but please try to find a way to take this one step at a time and to not drive yourself crazy until anything has been confirmed

John 11:4. This sickness is not into death but for the greater glory of God. I believe the Lord is going to heal your body in the name of Jesus. Amen.
