..to much of the country from the Rockies eastward including the Deep South early next week. Models showing single digit lows through much of Northern Alabama and Northern Georgia and single digit above and single digit below zero lows throughout all of Tennessee. Birmingham, for example, isn't forecasted to get above the upper 20s from Sunday evening until Wednesday afternoon. Probably haven't seen an arctic outbreak like this since the late 80s.

P.S. There is a temperature map about halfway down the first page of the linked thread.

Supposed to be 14 degrees in Memphis Monday, with wind chills below 0 according to local news. The low is 5.

I'm not mentally prepared for that....but I'm looking forward to snow.

I'd expect freezing temps even on the gulf coast.

It's hard to read the map. Is it saying 25-30 in South Texas?

I just don't want a freeze here in New Orleans. Looks like we'll be cutting it close.

Yes. To be honest the brunt of the cold air is aimed more at Miss, Ala, and Ga although it will get plenty cold west of there. Texas has seen colder temps this year than what is coming for them. I think this cold shot will be more impressive for how cold the high temperatures are. Birmingham is supposed to remain below freezing from late Sunday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon. It has been a long time since we've been below freezing for nearly 3 days straight this far South. Those of you in Tennessee might not get above the low 20s for about a 72 hour period.

People using a cold day to somehow discount climate change are my favorites because, if nothing else, it shows who I can discount entirely.

Accuweather just adjusted it downward for Collierville....snow Sunday, 11 degrees overnight. High Monday is 14, low is 5.

I really hope they have that wrong. That's insane.

Kinda like those AGW believers who piss and moan about the Earth dying from 'climate change' every time there is a heat wave, a forest fire, or some other natural phenomenon.
