I have not found a bag yet that doesn’t get trashed if you check it. My advise is to get cheap hard sided check bags and a nice carry on size bag.
I shake my head when I see someone checking a Tumi or some such.

Amazon basics rolling luggage
Thanks, everyone. I went with this .
$75 was right in my sweet spot. I will take a look at TJ Maxx next time I’m in there. My son often has to travel for work, and he could use a replacement, too.

I had a Victorinox soft roll on for years. I bought it at TJ Maxx for $100. There were two and I wished I’d had bought them both. It took a beating. It finally had a handle break.
I bought an Away spinner this year. It’s a clamshell and not a flip top, which I’d rather have the latter. But it takes a beating, too, is easy to load and stack things on top of during road trips, and looks nice. I’d buy it again. It also matches all of the other Away luggage my wife has acquired over the years. I was the oddball for a while.

Zipper gave out on my large suitcase, and I need to replace it.
Don't be a pussy. That's what duct tape is for.

I found a $150 suitcase at Ross for $7.
Ross, T.J. Maxx and Marshall's are great places to look if you just want something for occasional, like most people would require.

Go to TJ Maxx and buy a decent rolling case for $50.

I just flew this week and saw two pieces of luggage come out on the belt and they were fully Saran wrapped. Who the hell does that?

I like TravelPro.
If you want to save some money, look on Facebook Market place or Ebay. People are always trying to sell used luggage, and often it's in near perfect condition. Have bought several that way and they're great deals.

I have a 15 year old set of Victorinox luggage that won’t die and the airlines haven’t been able to kill. Built like tanks.
