Why does a route cost that much to implement?

Committees, coalitions, community forums, and the three trips to Atlanta to work out the fine details.

They are putting metal detectors on the buses, so there is nothing to worry about.

Mayor Broome would like to see a study on that.

This is what happens when the best and brightest of the population leave the parish and/or state over decades of time.

Isn't this a good thing? They're scrapping the tram idea in favor of buses.

I know when I walk around campus, my first thought is - how can we get more folks from the Plank road area here?

Good idea to scrap the Tram.
But this thing is more than more buses. It's costing 40/50 million dollars to build. It's more than just more buses.

Throw in the fact that the CP is pushing this deal, and not CATS.

CATS collects about 16million dollars a year in taxes and has about a 20 million a year budget. Yet the mayor is ready to inject parish money for more public transportation.

Why did you just make that up? It doesn’t even make sense.

Google “bus stop crime New Orleans” and the entire first page is news stories from just this year.

So you’re suggesting we are spending 50 million to bus in a couple hundred LSU workers at most?

Instead of connecting LSU to downtown for more foot traffic and potentially profiting 50 million in more tourism and entertainment?

Yeah. Wonderful idea.

Neither the Tram of the PlankRoad Express sound projects. It's all political.

$50,000,000 / 500 workers / 10 years = $10,000 per worker per year.

Put it into context: we could pay 500 workers’ rent in all the apartments being built around LSU for a decade for that sum.

This is idiocy.

You mean other than the government demanding to spend your tax dollars? NO!

How many Uber rides would $40Million buy?

Mr. Tyson says this is the key to, “reviving the urban core.”

What a joke.
