City-parish contractors are still deciding the exact route, but designs for an express bus line connecting LSU to the Plank Road corridor through downtown should be ready early next year.

The route is projected to cost between $40 and $50 million.

Is there a big demand for this route that I'm not aware of?

This is an update on the situation though. SWB requested another study to start work by next Labor Day.

It’s a neat way to say bus route from Plank rd to the casino that turns around at LSU.

who do you think works as custodial and dining hall staff?

the highland road bus is fricked. it takes hours to get thru campus and get somewhere. the highland rd bus is the worst in BR. hopefully the new bus takes nicholson.

The real answer is it gives the thousands of low-wage workers that support LSU on and off campus with food and services a means to get to and from the area without having to live right north of campus or in Gardere to find affordable housing.

This is a good thing but doesn't look like it on the surface to us alumni and students.

Gotta look at big picture.

And BTW, Most violent criminals do NOT use public transportation to commit their crimes. Unless they ride a bus to carjack a student.

A. The busses will be fricking gross and sketchy from plank rd inhabitants.

B. It’ll bus those undesirables to downtown and LSU, making those places less desireable.

What was going to just connect LSU and downtown with cool street cars mostly paid for by the federal government will now be a shitty bus line connecting the hood to those places paid for entirely by tax payers.

fricking brilliant.

Read the post above yours. That bus line ain't for students and alumni nor undesirables.

The real loser here is downtown and the Nicholson corridor. They were trying to connect those areas for LSU students and for gamedays and no students or LSU fans will ever ride a shitty city bus.
