re: LSU ranked 133rd

Publically, King Alexander may not be very popular but he has actually done pretty well in terms of stopping the downward momentum. A new LSU strategic plan has recently been debuted. I'm hoping we will see a positive upward swing again soon.

LSU 2025

UGA is legit. It's a big school with increasingly strong academics in an important state. Now, is it THAT much different than any other SEC school? Not really, for most things. But it's a bigger national brand in academia than others.

Now Tennessee and SCAR I don't really get. Again, it's kind of splitting hairs, but I'm not sure what they've done to tie with Auburn. Meanwhile, Alabama flew up the rankings a few years ago (Alabama plays the USNWR rankings game pretty well), even when it was less deserved. Now that it is more deserved and they're probably closer to Auburn than they've ever been, they've fallen behind. It's weird.

Just go look at how all the bullshite SUNY and Cal - frickall schools are consistently ranked so well

LSU is a great school for the undergraduate experience (football,co-eds, copious amounts of partying & drinking), but let's be honest.....it isn't exactly the most prestigious academic institution in the state, let alone the south.

I'm an LSU alumnus, but outside of the medical school, the school isnt anything great, with respect to academics.

There's specific programs within LSU that are highly regarded nationally & regionally. Just as you noted the Medical School. That's what students and their parents should be looking at, IMO.

e.g. Landscape Architecture, Internal Audit, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering.

LSU has one of the best MBA programs in the country

But to your point, LSU MUST improve/modernize it's Engineering program.

And it's Computer Science department is severely lacking

I believe they're in the top 30 of public institutions. And Top 5 or so in the Southeast.

It was a Forbes ranking.

Understandable. But you might want to look through the UF President's rankings of the 300+ schools from a few years ago. Ranks UF as a 5, and nearly every competing program as a 1 or a 2.
