Agreed. Theft by misappropriation of $1500 or more carries a maximum of 10 years in this state. That sounds about right.

But like someone else said, what he did is nothing compared to what the feds could find on other people if they put enough effort into it.

So what? I don't care how his crime compares to the other hypothetical criminals out there.

I never said ‘indefinitely’. But if you figure the cost of living in that compound as theft, then he’s looking at tens of thousands of ‘stolen’ or misappropriated dollars. That’s worthy of a jail sentence of some length. Don’t you think?

Louisiana State Police Superintendent Mike Edmonston

Another one of idiot Jindal's corrupt appointees. I seriously doubt the guy spends any time in jail as he should. That corrupt guy whom Jindal appointed to head DHH and who also had to resign in disgrace some years ago due to malfeasance in office, is now living his life somewhere up in Oregon. Nothing was really done to him either.

You realize that Jindal will be your next governor.

It'll probably be that whiney, self-righteous idiot John Kennedy.

While this part is significant, the IRS will want their pound of flesh. The cost of living in that house IS considered income and therefore subject to Federal Income Taxes.

Troop G in NWLa bothers me even though I tend to respect LEO.

They do no operate randomly. They send multiple units into small to moderately sized communities here and there and blanket them pulling over people for horseshite at 2 pm.

They are like roving tax collectors.

???

They don’t receive any money from tickets and that’s there job—to enforce traffic law.

Most of the time they do this due to increases in crashes in that area or complaints called in from residents of those areas.

You really gonna bitch about them actually doing their job?

I dont think first offense, non violent criminals should get serious jail time, buts thats just me. I think they should be given a small amount of time and then fricked with by doing community hours and whatnot.

But thats just my opinion..

Malfeasance conviction also can make him lose his state retirement.

They need to pass a law that states:

"Any public employee who is found guilty of malfeasance in office will lose all pension benefits"
