Is that specific to state employees?

I know it doesn't work that way for certain local governments

Timmy Teepell: I approved Mike Edmonson's living arrangements in interest of taxpayers, public safety

LINK

I will say Teepell is more corrupt than Edmonson, but it's not saying much.

He resigned

Because the governor compelled him to; JBE asked for his resignation. That's in effect firing him in state government appointed positions.

Before he asked for his resignation he gave him a $43,000.00 raise.

The legislature you mean.

So why no criticism aimed at your boy Jindal for even appointing that self-righteous rightwing crook Edmonson in the first place?

I think firing would have been a better call based on the information we have now

It really doesn't matter but if I catch an employee stealing from me I'm not asking them to resign

No. Edwards gave him the raise.

And as I pointed out he was a piece of shite before Jindal. All of them are to blame Jindal included.

So one guy who was run out of his job is taking some of the blame for another guy that was run out of his job? OK then. Not to mention that this in no way addresses the issues of tax fraud and the other various problems Edmonson faces.

The legislature had to sign off on it. Pay raises in state government are approved by the legislature. This ain't the private sector where the CEO can give pay raises willy-nilly.
And to answer the first question as to why JBE let him stay on, perhaps JBE had no knowledge yet of Edmonson's corruption and had no real reason to let him go. If he had done so with no real reason, all the Republicans would have been screaming bloody murder over it.

So let's see:

He and his family stayed free in hotels for Mardi Gras.
He and his family got free tickets to events like Endymion.
He lived on the DPS compound that apparently Jindal's Chief of Staff gave him authorization to do.
He had troopers escort his wife.
He had inmates walk his dog.

Does anyone think that every person sitting in the legislature hasn't done similar to the above and worse? Edmonson is only getting raked because he wears a badge. If you were to dig into every Senator and Rep at the Capitol, Edmonson's stuff would pale in comparison.

Great story. Maybe the taxpayers can approve both of their next living arrangements in the interests of taxpayer and public safety.

They're all connected..Dumbell Edwards had a brother in Tangipahoa who was sheriff..and wasn't the FBI looking into his dealings? Wasn't it Dumbell Edwards who decided to keep Mike on as head of the State Police? It's the old "you scratch my back- I'll scratch yours" system. You're either in the clique or you're not. And all the time...we taxpayers are the losers.

What was the most blatant was when he got legislators to rewrite the retirement rules for him so his retirement would be based off the superintendent salary instead of what he locked into before and the public got word of it and everyone was like how'd that slip in here.

When that went down... they should have been an investigation into all the other stuff... especially if it was as in the open as it seems to be.

Yeah, I'm sure JBE had no clue there were issues with Edmonson or LSP...

Sure...of course he didn't...

Don’t matter, a jury will never convict him of anything serious enough to get him anything but a slap on the wrist.
