When I was a kid we paid 50 cents a gallon. I had a go cart and could go take a dollar get a gallon of gas a Mtn dew and some candy.

I remember $.19 as a kid. I was just out of high school in 1979 when gas first broke $1.00 a gallon.

Not sure exactly how much I paid, but it was around that. What I do know is that $10 was more than enough to throw a couple of gallons in the ride and go Drinking With Lincoln and be set for the evening in late 80's.

As a kid I remember my parents paying 69 cents/gal in 1998 (Atlanta)

Personally as a driver, I paid about $1.10/gal in 2002.

Not for certain, but I turned 16 in 2000 and it was under a dollar. Maybe .79-.89.

I remember the first day of the Iraq invasion my dad told me to go straight from school to the gas station to fill up and gave me $20. He was freaking out because it was going over $1/gallon. I talked to him 2 or 3 times since Saturday and he is just fuming mad about gas prices. It's all he wants to talk about. I guess he tracks that shite daily.
