low .90's per gallon. I had a ranger with a 14 gallon tank and I could fill it up for $12.

My wife, my sister and I (no pics - please!) were driving through south Alabama in 1964 when we passed through an area where a gasoline price war was in progress. We were able to fill up my sister's Corvair with 12.9¢ a gallon gas.

We must be about the same age. I can remember going to “Biggies” gas station and doing the same. I also remember the first time gas passed $1 a gallon.

Lowest I can remember was .89 back in HS.

But I did pay 1.15 under Trump during the pandemic at a Sams.

I worked at a full service station in 1985. $1.40/gallon for premium with windows washed, interior vacuumed and all fluids checked.

Started driving in 1964. Regular was 17 cents. Ethyl was 19 cents. Got down to 11 cents when stations had "gas wars".

Lowest I remember was .34 cents a gallon for Esso gas!
Worked as a pump jockey in the early 70's and you could easily fill up your car for under $10, and get Top Value stamps that could be cashed in for gifts.
Ah, the good ole days

May 1999 gas was $.89/gal at RaceTrac(later became Raceway franchise and now closed) on Bluebonnet. I was moving to Plano and was excited that I could get to my apartment way up Preston Road in Plano and back to Siegen Lane in Baton Rouge for $30.

I can't remember the lowest, but I do remember my first time filling up after I turned 16. My old Jeep had a 15 gallon tank, and gas was $0.89 a gallon and it took around $12 to fill up. I spent $85 to fill up my wife's Sequoia the other night.
