And that may be, which is fine but at least incentivize it so companies will look into it. Same thing with solar. Let the cost to build in industrial/commercial settings be written off or something else creative instead of of sticking it on productive farm land.

My ex father in law leased 400+ acres from Shell for $100 per year just to keep trash from being dumped on it, and clean up the trash already there. He put in an full race track for horses and raise hay for them along with pasture for brood marea and foals.
Sitting undeveloped cots more than just letting someone use it.

As long as we're putting them in sparsely populated areas with lots of land, lots of water, and needed development, i'm fine with a fee of them. Anything at this point to spur the right type of population growth.

Oracles threats of “burying you financially in court” vs LA “hands be out” will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Not put data centers, raze and rebuild neighborhoods. We don't have a shortage of houses. We have a shortage of houses in areas where law abiding people want to live.
There are parts of a lot of city areas with around 30% occupancy, Detroit is a prime example.
Move out the remaining leeches of government assistance and rebuild a master community.

I’m all on board with SpaceX but I just don’t get the hype on the data centers. SpaceX with 3k six figure jobs is way different than a data center with 30 jobs that uses up enough water to supply a major city.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. These are private companies with competitors. And the state is also competing with other states to attract them.
The secrecy is generally just for the negotiation period. It all comes out if the deal gets done.
This is one of those talking points the takes over social media that is nothing.

It shouldn’t be viewed as a good thing though. And SpaceX is not a private company anymore since going public in June. It is a very weird gray area, that if challenged, I think the NDAs would lose.
But good on Jeff for getting the deal done.
