it’s why we still call them “gas stations” while other places call them Convenience Stores
they go to a named store “Casey’s” , “QT”, “Kwik Star”, “Kum and Go” while we have to go to to the “Shell” or “Chevron” with whatever shite mobile home is attached to it

Every time people bring up "Louisiana doesn't have nice things" it all boils down to Louisiana having a large population of the type of people that make it not possible to have nice things.
If you want nice public things you are going to have to move. If you are OK with your own private nice things you can buy enough land to not see your neighbors in Louisiana.
