Good thing I went and got groceries yesterday

I did the same, but underestimated my beer consumption yesterday. We have a good steady rain coming down in Madisonville with 32 degrees.

I had a fire rolling for the family at 5:30am, made breakfast, and have now.comoleted five loads of laundry while the wife is doing school with Junior. I'm thinking it will be an early start today on the beers again.

Baw looks like he’s about to crash into the split railing.

If he didn't right there there's a 100% chance he wrecked in the curve 100ft later.

It was frozen pretty good a few hours ago.

When temps get below freezing, I switch to liquor. It doesn't freeze, so I drink copious amounts so I won't freeze to death.

At 2 I was the only one to cross it east bound in quite a ehile since everything was shut.

When driving down, the wind made it...risky.

Rain/sleet has stopped her in Central, but now the wind is starting pick up some. Trees will be coming down big time with the saturated ground, and heavy load of ice.

Neighbors live oak uprooted about 30min ago.

Want to talk about a game if inches? Here in North AL, we have gotten a bit of Southerly flow which will bring temps up for some to just above freezing, and they will only get rain.
I’m currently in the same area and plan on driving back to New Orleans tomorrow, weather permitting. Hopefully by noon, we will be able to get home

In downtown Shreveport, there are cars having to be shoveled out to try and leave the Remington Suites Hotel. Also the automatic doors to my office are stuck open due to drifting and blowing snow piling up. Its crazy.

For those that are crossing it, what percentage do you think are doing it in low or first gear without trying to apply brakes?

I have a feeling they’re going 40-50 mph like nothing bad is gonna happen...

The aftermath here at the house. We lost power for around three hours this AM, one part of the house got down to 56, but power is back on now and warming nicely.

S- it’s not supposed to get above freezing until some time Wednesday with a chance of freezing rain again Thursday. How long do you think until Avoyelles roads and schools can open?

Not sure, I think some roads should be open. I saw some DOTD sand trucks in place in mansura so im assuming they’re trying to keep hwy 1 open.
