We have about an inch and a half on the ground here. We're supposed to see the heavier snow after 1:00 pm.

Just walked out to the road in front of my house. What traffic that has been on it has packed the sleet down. It’s like a sheet of ice now.

For those that are crossing it, what percentage do you think are doing it in low or first gear without trying to apply brakes?

I have a feeling they’re going 40-50 mph like nothing bad is gonna happen.

I did it in 5th. At 30.

It doesn't really matter what you do going down the east side. You're aiming not driving.

Will Entergy send crew out today in BR? If not, I might have to vacate and check into hotel

No builder around here worth their salt would ever run plumbing on exterior walls w/o it being tripled insulated, particularly a N. facing exterior wall. We’re used to driving in the snow & nobody can drive in freezing rain/sleet/ice. That being said the WC was a legit -30 below last night & forecast -35/-40 tonight. It’s blizzard conditions here cause the winds are howling & blowing & drifting existing snow on the ground. Took the kids sledding yesterday they lasted about half hour...pussies.

This thread has not aged well and by this weekend coming it will really be stale.

Should not be allowed to start these type of threads predicting weather 10-12 days in advance.

There may not be an OT poster as consistently wrong as tgrbaitn08.

His ignorance has almost become an art.

That shot from Memphis on TWC a bit ago was insane 9° windchill of -8° and could bottom out at 0° tonight. Sideways snow and the guy was standing in the middle of a snow covered Beale St.

Friends,

TDsnGumbo’s thread introducing us to this threat two weeks ago is the weather equivalent of DFV’s GME post in June 2019. I think he should get a commendation from the Governor’s office.

That’s awesome.

Unfortunately we are just going to get ice, rain and downed tree limbs.
